KICC THE LIGHTHOUSE A.M.E.N (ACHIEVING MEN EMPOWERING NATIONS) CONFERENCE In celebration of International Men’s Day, KICC The Lighthouse invited men of all ages on a journey of Self Discovery. This was a FREE interactive conference where men enjoyed the Caribbean Buffet, socialised and were equipped to claim and celebrate their calling as leaders, husbands and fathers. A huge thanks to our guest speakers, who spoke on Gods Design for Men, Overcoming Adversity, Business, Leadership, Mental Health, Prostrate Cancer and Parenthood to the 50 men in attendance. YOUTH TAKEOVER SERVICE The KICC The Lighthouse Youth Ministry took over the Service – and it was a massive hit! It was also a great opportunity for the youth to ‘own’ church and for the rest of the church to see what our students are capable of and cheer them on. ‘THE STRUGGLE IS REAL’ KICC The Lighthouse Youth Leaders held a Panel Discussion answering some of the big questions our Youths had on Love, Dating, Purity & Relationships. Youth said they felt empowered and clear on any blurred lines. THE PARENT OF YOUTH DISCUSSION Following the stabbings of three teenagers, one fatally, on the same night not far from KICC The Lighthouse in Enfield earlier this year. The church decided to host an evening for all of those concerned about the current situation. Members, their friends and family attended the event, led by Mervin Cato, KICC The Lighthouse’s Youth Leader (who is also employed by Enfield Council in Education working with the most hardest to reach young people in the borough). This event was well received and gave parents an opportunity to openly share the struggles they are facing and receive sound advice, best practices and support. 12
KICC GHANA WHEN CHAMPIONS GATHER KICC Ghana’s Annual Conference When Champions Gather (19th-22nd October) attracted hundreds to hear and be impacted by the Word. Themed Come to the River, Speakers were KICC Senior Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo and Bishop George Bloomer, Bethel Family Worship Centre, USA. Music ministration was by Pastor Helen Yawson, the KICC Praise Team, and Guest Artiste Florocka, Nigeria. PASTOR MATTHEW ASHIMOLOWO 13
