This magnificent Elizabethan Mansion House located in South Somerset is constructed in<br />

local Ham stone and incorporates a National Portrait Gallery exhibition. Highly<br />

recommended. The house is noted for its fine furniture, tapestries and heraldic glass and<br />

its amazing Long Gallery which extends the full length of the house - a remarkable 172ft!<br />

Outside there is a superb formal garden with mixed borders, old roses and a landscaped<br />

park - great for exploring. Montacute House was been used extensively as a film location,<br />

notably in Ang Lee's version of Sense and Sensibility. Price includes entrance.<br />

We head to the ancient market town of Godalming delightfully situated on the picturesque River Wey in South West Surrey. Plenty of time here for an extended lunch and time<br />

to enjoy the historic architecture of the town. Maybe take a stroll down charming Church Street to the church with the park beyond following the river. In the afternoon we<br />

board our horse drawn barge for a 2 hour cruise along the river. Sit back, relax and enjoy the sounds of the river on board the traditional canal boat powered solely by the<br />

towing action of the horse - a lovely tranquil journey. Facilities onboard include a toilet and a tea bar serving beverages and soft drinks.<br />

Step back in to the Edwardian age at this magnificent country retreat near Dorking. Once the home of one of the great society hostesses of the time, the house entertained<br />

the celebrities and royalty of the age. The house was transformed into a glittering spectacle by the same architects who designed The Ritz Hotel in London. Amongst the<br />

rooms there is an extensive collection of fine art from Dutch old masters to ceramics including Faberge eggs. Outside, there are lovely grounds to explore with splendid<br />

gardens and woodland for those who want a longer walk. Facilities include the Granary Café which serves a selection of hot and cold food. Price includes entrance.<br />

Kensington Palace is one of central London's royal residences and recently underwent<br />

a £12million refurbishment. Formerly the home of Princess Diana, it is now the official<br />

residence to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – Kate and Wills. Built in 1605, it has<br />

roots in Jacobean architecture and is one of London's most exquisite palaces. Inside,<br />

there are exhibitions exploring the lives of Kensington's inhabitants, whilst outside there<br />

are acres of manicured gardens and the world famous Orangery. The successful<br />

Diana - Her Fashion Story exhibition has now been extended. Price includes<br />
