JJ Waller’s plan was to make an image of the towering white cranes on the Circus Street<br />
construction site. Taking up position on John Street, he got chatting instead to crime writer<br />
Peter James, who was there planning his new book. Having lost the light, JJ took off to the<br />
nearby Greys pub where he found and photographed Caroline Lucas, there to support the<br />
Save The Greys campaign. Hardly the picture he planned to take, but a great picture all the<br />
same. “Thankfully,” says JJ, “sticking to a plan in <strong>Brighton</strong> isn’t always easy.”<br />
