Module 1<br />

Topics:<br />

Introduction to the project.<br />

Activities:<br />

• Designing the project logo.<br />

• Making short films - partner school presentations.<br />

• Survey assessing students’ self-esteem and body image.<br />

Module 2<br />

Focus on feelings and emotions<br />

Module motto: "I've learned that people will forget what you said,<br />

people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you<br />

made them feel." Maya Angelou<br />

Topics:<br />

• Names of feelings and emotions in mother tongue and English<br />

• Developing emotional intelligence<br />

• Body language<br />

Activities:<br />

• Discussing the results of the survey, conclusions.<br />

• Creating a dictionary - feelings and emotions (English plus all languages of<br />

partner countries)<br />

• Creating a pictionary of body language - the same gesture may have a<br />

different meaning, depending on the country<br />

• Designing self-collages. Using pictures, words, or symbols clipped from<br />

magazines that represent things they enjoy doing or own, places they've<br />

been, people they admire, or careers they desire, students create a<br />

collage. Individually, in pairs or in groups.<br />

• Photo competition: students are divided into small groups, each group is assigned a<br />

feeling, they have to take a photo/a series of photos depicting the feeling<br />

• Expressing feelings: ‘Cinderella’ on stage. The fairy tale is divided into parts, as if it<br />

was a TV series, each country gets only a part of the story, they have to prepare their<br />

episode. During the meeting the whole fairy tale is presented, countries taking turns.<br />

Module 3<br />

Focus on self-esteem<br />

• Improving self-esteem and building confidence<br />

• Promoting mental health<br />

• Health-enhancing behaviours and reducing health risks<br />

• Focus on Personal Strengths<br />

• Stress<br />

• Sport<br />

• Sleep<br />

• Healthy food<br />

• Concentrate on your positives<br />

• Learn to be assertive<br />

Activities:<br />

• Workshops for teachers and parents.<br />

• Cooking - healthy recipes<br />

• Drawing self portraits: children divide the shape for the face down the<br />

center lengthwise. Half the face is a depiction of how the student sees<br />

himself/herself, and the other how he thinks others see him.<br />

• Role plays promoting assertiveness<br />

• Hand tracing: in the center of the traced hand kids write ‘I am’ and then in<br />

the fingers, they write what they are good at, what they like about<br />

themselves.<br />

• Rainbow compliments: a student writes his/her name in a cut out cloud<br />

shape, then he/she cuts the coloured paper into strips and writes good<br />

things about himself/herself on them, then the strips are pasted to the<br />

cloud.<br />

• Positive feedback: a student sits on a chair in front of a white board while the others<br />

write positive phrases and words about him/her. The sitting child can’t peek at what is<br />

Module 4<br />

Focus on body image<br />

• Creating a positive body image<br />

• Social pressure<br />

• Media influence<br />

• Advertisements<br />

• Ways to improve body image<br />

Activities:<br />

• Workshops for teachers and parents.<br />

• Discussing the film (it’s a commercial but the last part with logo can be<br />

easily skipped):<br />

• Creating a “Me” or “We” film commercial<br />

The commercial depicts the student's special qualities. Or a small groups of<br />

students make the commercials together, featuring them as a dream team.<br />

• Shields. Students in groups design, create and decorate cardboard shields<br />

with positive solutions to problems such as stress, low self-esteem,<br />

negative body image, etc.<br />

Module 5<br />

Focus on social skills<br />

Module motto: ‘Any day spent with you is my favourite day. So today is<br />

my new favorite day.’ A.A. Milne, ‘Winnie the Pooh’<br />

Topics:<br />

• Social skills<br />

• Connect with people who love you<br />

• Real people versus social media<br />

• Healthy alternatives to spending time online<br />

• Social skills in real life and internet<br />

Activities:<br />

• Workshops for teachers and parents.<br />

• Writing a song promoting friendship - it will be our project anthem: we can<br />

choose a simple song everyone knows (karaoke version) and each country<br />

writes one stanza or the stanzas are written by multinational groups<br />

during a meeting. Then we perform it together. Actually, Love Life is an<br />

• Fairy tale in a distorting mirror - teenagers might consider dealing with<br />

fairy tales a bit childish but we could ask them to invent a modern version<br />

of a very popular story. We could concentrate on beauty related scenes<br />

only. Stories to consider: Beauty and the Beast, Princess and the Frog,<br />

Snow White (the scene with the mirror). Students prepare and perform<br />

their version during one of the meetings.<br />

Module 6<br />

Focus on happiness<br />

Module motto: "Think of all the beauty still left around you and be<br />

Topics:<br />

Happiness<br />

Positive thinking<br />

Activities:<br />

• Poster competition and campaign - promoting positive attitude<br />

• Poems about happiness, for example Christina Rossetti’s ‘A Birthday’:<br />

Possibilities: illustrating the poem, writing a<br />

similar poem - it can be ambitious or very simple, repeating the pattern:<br />

• Inventing happy endings to popular books and films which have tragic<br />

ones (eg. “Titanic”). Acting out the final scene in the altered version.<br />

• Celebrating happiness - a show - maybe for younger kids? - with funny<br />

sketches, juggling, clowns, etc prepared by students.<br />

• Recipe for happiness - creative writing activities, based on a structure of a<br />

typical culinary recipe.<br />

Module 7<br />

• Survey after completing project activities, comparing them with the ones<br />

at the beginning of partnership.<br />

• Project evaluation.<br />
