Vision, Ethos & Values
Our core vision, ethos and values
Our Vision
To achieve academic excellence, develop students with exemplary character, prepare students to
effectively live, work and trade in the global economy, and ensure that every student succeeds.
Our Ethos
Within King Solomon Primary phase we aim to create a Christian climate of care where all feel
valued, supported and have a feeling of uniqueness and self-esteem. A positive ethos is
provided in which children can feel secure in making positive contribution to all aspects of their
development within their primary years. We wish to foster in the children, a sense of community
and responsibility as well a growing awareness of their place in the wider community.
To achieve this ethos we have adopted a 4C's approach to providing a thriving environment for
all who are part of the Primary phase community, Firstly, we seek to promote the development
of Christian character through a set of nine Christian character fruits, providing a values based
approach to the development of the whole child. Secondly, we seek to provide an atmosphere
of care amongst everyone in the primary phase, each with the other. Thirdly, we seek to
promote an effective communication network between all involved in the life of children in the
Primary phase. We recognize that open communication is essential to the smooth running of the
phase and is indicative of the quality of interaction to be found across the phase. Fourthly, we
seek to foster a community spirit within groups, classes, year groups and across the primary
phase, extending to the Secondary phase, parents and the wider community in which the school
is located.
This 4C’s approach to ethos provides an effective strategy for creating a worthy Primary phase
ethos in which good personal relationships are fostered, a sense of personal and collective
responsibility, team participation and loyalty are promoted.
„
Our aim at King Solomon is to
ensure that all pupils have the
opportunity to grow spiritually,
emotionally and intellectually.
