obtained six distinctions
in accounting, English,
isiXhosa, life orientation
(LO), life sciences and
mathematics. Ndlebe
hopes to study actuarial
science at UCT. Her
advice to the matrics of
2018:
Thomas Stott from
Grahamstown obtained
five distinctions in
Afrikaans, engineering
and graphic design
(EGD), IT, mathematics
and physical sciences.
Stott won a scholarship
to Rhodes University for
his tertiary studies and
plans to study a BSc with
specific focus on
computer science,
mathematics and
physics. He hopes that
these studies will lay the
foundation for him to
become an engineer.
Alexander Griplas from
Tanzania obtained five
distinctions in
accounting, economics,
geography, LO and
mathematics. Griplas
plans to study economics
and finance abroad in
Europe, either in England
or Italy.
Other notable achievers
of four distinctions each,
with over 80% overall
averages were: Caitlin
Stoltz from
Grahamstown, who got
distinctions for Afrikaans,
business studies,
geography and
mathematical literacy;
Kate Von Holdt from
Grahamstown –

Police recover stolen vehicles in PE
including two motor
vehicles. Charges
include house robbery,
theft and
housebreaking.
It is alleged an
unknown number of
suspects entered the
house of an employee
on the farm where they
tied up the husband
with cable ties but not
his wife and two
children and no
physical assault was
s u st a i n e d .
However, the family
were severely
traumatised by the
incident.

Before leaving for the
main house, the
suspects took two cell
phones from the
employee, as well as
the keys to a bakkie
parked in the yard.
The suspects forced
open the burglar gate
and entered the main
house which was
va c a n t .
They made off with
several firearms,
jewellery, cash, a
generator, a Suzuki boat
motor, a set of golf
clubs, a laptop and a
silver grey Polo Player.

were mobilised.
