Aspire Canterbury is a not-for-profit<br />
community-focused organisation<br />
committed to meeting the needs of older<br />
persons with mobility issues and disabled<br />
persons. Their aim is to assist people in<br />
making informed decisions about accessing<br />
services or choosing products that will<br />
assist them in their daily lives.<br />
They have taken their services on the<br />
road and out into communities, meeting<br />
people in their environments to make<br />
daily living easier. Aspire Mobile is a<br />
response to the need to reconnect, giving<br />
disabled people easier access to services<br />
and introducing them to new products<br />
which can make their lives more enjoyable<br />
and provide them with a sense of inclusion<br />
in the wider community.<br />
They will show you how to choose a<br />
walker or walking stick that is the correct<br />
height, provide information about both<br />
their services and other resources available<br />

& Vatican” + “Cuba”, as<br />

at least a few nights at<br />
each place. “That way<br />
you don’t feel like you’re<br />
living out of a suitcase.’’<br />
Many clients now have<br />
made over 20 tours with<br />
us, one has completed a<br />
whopping 27 tours.<br />
“My clients tell me<br />
they keep coming back<br />
because of the size of the groups and our<br />
relaxed manner. My motto is ‘There are no<br />
strangers, only friends waiting to meet.’<br />
We gather together for breakfast at<br />
8.30am which sets us up for the day and<br />
everybody thinks is a very civilised hour.’’<br />

Total Mobility Discounted Taxi Service – a scheme<br />
which provides 50% discounts on taxi journeys to<br />
eligible people in the Christchurch area who, due<br />
to health conditions, are unable to access public<br />
