We report today (page 1) on a<br />
city council move to protect something<br />
that should be off-limits to<br />
taggers in the first place.<br />
The panels can be peeled off<br />
when they are vandalised and then<br />
simply replaced.<br />
I’m not sure why the city council<br />
hasn’t done this sooner, but credit<br />
where credit is due and good on<br />
them for the move.<br />
They will be in place in about a<br />
month, and a historic monument<br />
in Woolston will also be covered in<br />
the panels.<br />
But at the end of the day it is a<br />
sad indictment on society – particularly<br />
teenagers who are usually<br />
the taggers – when they target<br />
such things as war memorials.<br />
Send the culprits to Burnham<br />
for several weeks to sort them out,<br />
