Peace Of Mind Over Earthquake Claims Is Within Your Grasp -
Let Us Offer You A Helping Hand
Earthquake Services
As a community we have just marked the sixth anniversary of the February 22
earthquake with the opening of the Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial. Our
hearts ached to recall the loss that came about that day. But as we look back let’s
not forget that for some in Canterbury the consequences of the earthquakes are still
very real, and completely unresolved.
We are determined to help settle those claims still unresolved from the 2010 and
2011 earthquakes and allow our clients to move on with their lives. Here’s how we
can help you.
EQC Still Assessing You?
If you are still dealing with EQC to get your claim recognised or to get them to accept
you should be put over cap, we can help get this done. We have had hundreds of
our clients put over cap, and paid out by EQC, over the last 5 years. Many of these
clients had hit a brick wall before they came to us, and did not have the money or
skills to push EQC beyond their cap limit. Our process ensures EQC takes a realistic
view of the actual damage to your home, and the costs to repair it, which very often
means the claim goes over cap.
Getting Nowhere with Your Insurer?
Many homeowners have come to an impasse with their Insurer, and simply don’t
know what to do next. We can get your insurer back on to a path to settle your
claim. Once we get involved, the insurers know they have to justify their position, and
come up with a realistic repair strategy and costing of that strategy. We will advocate
for the repair strategy that we believe is going to fully repair your property to your
policy standard, and ensure you get your full entitlement under your insurance policy.
Concerned Your Damage Was Under Scoped?
Other homeowners know the damage to their foundations was never properly
scoped or was completely ignored by EQC or their insurer, but are unable to get
any action on this. We know what it takes to get EQC or the insurer to accept these
claims, and have the resources to deliver the information and the pressure needed
before they will pay out on these claims.
REPAIR
Worrying about the quality of earthquake repairs by EQC or insurance companies can
be a real headache for some homeowners. If that’s you, we can inspect your property for
free * and advise you on the state of your repairs. We’re here to help everyday Cantabrians
move on with their lives. We are Earthquake Services, claim advocates specialising in
helping people like you sort out your claims and achieve the results you deserve.
Worried About Your Repairs?
For many homeowners, doubts also linger about the quality of the earthquake repairs
done by Fletcher EQR or their insurer’s contractors. It’s a known fact that many
earthquake repairs have been sub-standard or inadequate. Foundation repairs such
as epoxying foundation cracks and jacking and packing piles to relevel floors, are not
what the insurers agreed to when they sold their insurance policies with terms like
“AS NEW” as the repair standard. We will inspect your repairs for free*, and give you
an honest opinion on whether you have major damage that has not been repaired.
At best, you will have peace of mind that your repairs are sound. If they are not up to
standard, we will engage with the relevant parties for you to get you your entitlement.
Limitation Act
At some time in the near future, EQC and the insurers will apply the Limitation Act,
which will mean a complete stop to any more payments for earthquake damage from
2010 and 2011. This means thousands of homeowners may be left with a damaged
house that they cannot get repaired without paying for the repairs themselves. To
avoid being one of those people, you need to take action now. Don’t wait until you
know when the deadline is, as you will then be competing with thousands of other
homeowners to get your claim established.
How We Can Help
We carry out a free* inspection of your property for our clients and either give you
peace of mind that all of your earthquake damage has been identified, scoped,
and repaired to the required standard, or give you certainty that it has not. We will
even lift your carpets for free* to check your floor slab is not cracked. If we identify
major damage that has not been repaired, we take on the claim for you and get
you your policy entitlement. You pay nothing until your claim is settled. We cover all
the expert’s reports that are needed, and any legal fees if we need to resort to legal
action to get you your full claim entitlement.
We can help take the pressure off and work with you, and for you, to reach a positive
outcome, or give you peace of mind that your home is fully repaired to the required
standard.
Let us give you a hand
