The Brydone Hotel is one of the<br />

Central Brewhouse, Oamaru’s<br />

Oamaru Licensing Trust and profits are<br />
put to good use in the community,<br />
so using the Brydone for any event is<br />
good for you and good for the whole<br />

Liquor Licensing<br />
The Oamaru Licensing Trust (OLT) is<br />
a community owned business that<br />
operates in the hospitality industry<br />
within North Otago.<br />
The trust owns and operates four<br />
establishments in Oamaru – the<br />
Brydone Hotel with conference<br />
facilities, the Sports Central Brew<br />
House which is Oamaru’s only<br />
dedicated sports bar, a<br />
Liquorland franchise<br />
outlet, and the<br />
Northstar motelrestaurant-bar<br />
and bottle<br />
store with<br />
conference<br />
facilities.<br />
The trust is<br />
administered<br />
under the<br />
provisions of the<br />
Sale and Supply of<br />
Alcohol Act 2012. The<br />
functions of the trust and operate<br />
premises for the sale and supply<br />
of alcohol on any other business<br />
that, in the trust’s opinion, can<br />
be conveniently carried on in<br />
conjunction with the previously listed<br />
functions. A share of its profits is used<br />
to support community projects and<br />
causes.<br />
The trust’s area is defined<br />
by boundary lines drawn on<br />
historic local body ward or riding<br />
boundaries. The Trust has recently<br />
changed its ward structure. For the<br />
<strong>2016</strong> triennial local body elections<br />
5 members will be elected at large<br />
over a single ward structure.<br />

The decision on which<br />
organisations are successful is still<br />
made by local people.The Grants<br />
Distribution committee consists of<br />
five elected Oamaru Licensing Trust<br />
members and one independently<br />
appointed local resident.<br />
All monies generated through the<br />
gaming machines in the Oamaru<br />
Licensing Trust establishments are<br />
returned to North Otago based<br />
organisations.<br />

including a hotel, motel, restaurants, bars and a retail liquor outlet<br />
throughout the District, and ensures staff are highly skilled in all<br />

fine wines are at your fingertips. The profits we make are driven back<br />
