Emma’s Arabian Dream
Emma Dickinson-Gater owns Petal, a 12.2 15yr old Arab x welsh B mare.
They generally attend County/Agricultural shows, and also Arab shows.
Says Emma “Petal is a real madam of a pony, but I absolutely adore her. I
got her for free from a friend along with Silver Lutifah, she loves going to
shows, and parties, any opportunity to show Mum up, she’ll take it!”
Based in Lancashire, in the Ribble Valley, near Clitheroe, the
others in her team are Rhequiemme, a large chestnut,
6yo Anglo Arab/small Hack, to be aimed at Novice
Hacks this yea; Silver Lutifah, an 11 yr old Pure bred
Crabbet Arabian, to be aimed at BAHPAC under
saddle and Internationals in hand. Emma is also
showing her friends 18yr old coloured show cob in
Ridden Veterans.
The other 2 in the team are Elvenkeeps Sir Oswald
A proper Charlie!
Ella Yebbacombe’s New Forest pony
Llyndhurst Soldier, or Charlie is a total
poser. She bought him as a just backed
5 year old from Tina Canton. He is now
rising 8 and they are going into their
third year together.
In the last two years he was literally
done a bit of everything from dressage,
Show jumping, hunting, team chasing
and eventing. This year Ella is hoping
he will take centre stage as her older
horse has now retired and so Charlie
has some big shoes to fill. She’d love him to
qualify for BD Petplan festivals and also get
round some BE90s.
He is the naughtiest pony on the yard and
literally gets away with murder because he
looks so blooming cute!
A family affair!
Elizabeth Mansfield and her pony
Alfie and their Christmas fancy dress,
after many discussions it was decided
that Alfie and Elizabeth would be a
Christmas Pudding for the competition
as quoting my daughter “Alfie loved his
grub so this is the best idea”.
The costume was made by all the
family including Nanna and grandad
helping to stick gems on for the fruit
and sewing tinsel onto the costume.
Much enjoyment was had from making
the costume and at the show itself,
mulled wine and mince pies.
