Emirates SkyCargo wraps up 2017<br />

with over 2.5M tons of cargo flown<br />

DUBAI: Emirates SkyCargo flew<br />

more than 2.5 million tons of cargo in<br />

2017 with pharmaceuticals and<br />

perishables accounting for much of<br />

the growth posted during the period.<br />

The freight division of Emirates said<br />

its robust performance last year was<br />

underlined by the introduction of<br />

specialized customer focused air<br />

transportation solutions across a<br />

number of industry verticals and by<br />

c o n t i n u e d i n v e s t m e n t i n<br />

infrastructure.<br />

Between January and December<br />

2017, Emirates SkyCargo's hubs at<br />

Dubai International Airport (DXB)<br />

and Dubai World Central (DWC) saw<br />

MEMPHIS, Tennessee: FedEx Corp.<br />

is once again ranked as among the<br />

most admired companies in the<br />

world, according to a sur vey<br />

published in FORTUNE magazine.<br />

The annual “World's Most Admired<br />

Companies” report listed FedEx as<br />

the 9th most admired company. The<br />

survey measures nine attributes<br />

related to financial performance and<br />

corporate reputation.<br />

“FedEx is honored to have been<br />

recognized again among the world's<br />

combined cargo volumes of over 2.5<br />

million tons.<br />

In 2017, in response to increasing<br />

demand from its customers, Emirates<br />

SkyCargo introduced a range of air<br />

transport solutions specific to<br />

industry verticals including Emirates<br />

Pharma, Emirates Wheels and<br />

Emirates Fresh.<br />

Emirates Pharma, developed for the<br />

s e c u r e t r a n s p o r t a t i o n o f<br />

temperature sensitive pharmaceuticals<br />

from origin to destination,<br />

has been extremely well received by<br />

pharma customers worldwide.<br />

This is the 18th consecutive year that<br />

FedEx was listed among the top 20 in<br />

t h e F O RT U N E M o s t A d m i r e d<br />

Companies List, with 14 of those<br />

years ranking among the top 10.<br />

FORTUNE collaborated with partner<br />

The company also transported over<br />

285,000 tons of perishables across its<br />

network last year and unveiled a<br />

unique rose decal on one of its<br />

freighter aircraft to highlight the<br />

importance of air cargo to the<br />

Wheels, Emirates SkyCargo has also<br />

been transporting close to 150 cars a<br />

month not only in the peak summer<br />

season, but throughout the year.<br />

In addition to individual customers,<br />

the air cargo carrier has worked with<br />

major car manufacturers and<br />

distributors to transport premium<br />

and luxury cars.<br />

With its focus on structured and<br />

customized offerings, Emirates<br />

SkyCargo says it is well positioned to<br />

further address customer needs in<br />

<strong>2018</strong> in other sectors including e-<br />

commerce.<br />

FedEx lands spot on Fortune World's<br />

most admired companies list<br />

Korn Ferry on the survey of corporate<br />

reputation. They began with a<br />

universe of about 1,500 candidates:<br />

the 1,000 largest US companies<br />

ranked by revenues, along with non-<br />

US companies in FORTUNE's Global<br />

500 database that have revenues of<br />

$10 billion or more.<br />

The list was narrowed to the highestrevenue<br />

companies in each industry,<br />

a total of 680 in 29 countries. The toprated<br />

companies were picked from<br />

that pool of 680.
