Emirates SkyCargo wraps up 2017
with over 2.5M tons of cargo flown
DUBAI: Emirates SkyCargo flew
more than 2.5 million tons of cargo in
2017 with pharmaceuticals and
perishables accounting for much of
the growth posted during the period.
The freight division of Emirates said
its robust performance last year was
underlined by the introduction of
specialized customer focused air
transportation solutions across a
number of industry verticals and by
c o n t i n u e d i n v e s t m e n t i n
infrastructure.
Between January and December
2017, Emirates SkyCargo's hubs at
Dubai International Airport (DXB)
and Dubai World Central (DWC) saw

is once again ranked as among the
most admired companies in the
world, according to a sur vey
published in FORTUNE magazine.
The annual “World's Most Admired
Companies” report listed FedEx as
the 9th most admired company. The
survey measures nine attributes
related to financial performance and
corporate reputation.

recognized again among the world's
combined cargo volumes of over 2.5
million tons.
In 2017, in response to increasing
demand from its customers, Emirates
SkyCargo introduced a range of air
transport solutions specific to
industry verticals including Emirates
Pharma, Emirates Wheels and
Emirates Fresh.
Emirates Pharma, developed for the
s e c u r e t r a n s p o r t a t i o n o f
temperature sensitive pharmaceuticals
from origin to destination,
has been extremely well received by
pharma customers worldwide.

This is the 18th consecutive year that
FedEx was listed among the top 20 in
t h e F O RT U N E M o s t A d m i r e d
Companies List, with 14 of those
years ranking among the top 10.

The company also transported over
285,000 tons of perishables across its
network last year and unveiled a
unique rose decal on one of its
freighter aircraft to highlight the
importance of air cargo to the
floriculture industry.
With the introduction of Emirates
Wheels, Emirates SkyCargo has also
been transporting close to 150 cars a
month not only in the peak summer
season, but throughout the year.
In addition to individual customers,
the air cargo carrier has worked with
major car manufacturers and
distributors to transport premium
and luxury cars.
With its focus on structured and
customized offerings, Emirates
SkyCargo says it is well positioned to
further address customer needs in
2018 in other sectors including e-
commerce.

FedEx lands spot on Fortune World's
most admired companies list
Korn Ferry on the survey of corporate
reputation. They began with a
universe of about 1,500 candidates:
the 1,000 largest US companies
ranked by revenues, along with non-
US companies in FORTUNE's Global
500 database that have revenues of
$10 billion or more.
The list was narrowed to the highestrevenue
companies in each industry,
a total of 680 in 29 countries. The toprated
companies were picked from
that pool of 680.
