LD’s Clip Joint
In 1978 Lenore Mohr (then Lenore
Devine) opened her first salon at just
18 years old. There in Queens Village,
New York the first LD’s Clip
Joint was born. Eighteen is a young
age to be a business owner. Lenore
was born with what many seem to
lack in today’s economy, and that is
a strong work ethic. Her first salon
boomed from the start, her talents
grew and so did her clientele. Newly
married, Lenore had 2 children by
the time she was 25, but then all in
the matter of 5 years, Lenore was divorced
re-married and widowed, but
she still worked on. Meeting John
Mohr in her 30’s and visiting beautiful
Hertford, NC in 1993 with him
began a great new journey in her
life. Leaving New York, she came to
Hertford and started all over again
opening a new LD’s Clip Joint, with
nothing but John Mohr by her side.
They worked 7 days a week and
rebuilt the business from the ground
up always saying “I can give you
that haircut in a NY minute”. Today
LD’s Clip Joint & Mohr (now located
in Elizabeth City) is the busiest
walk-in salon in our area as well as
being voted best hair salon just this
year! If you don’t believe me, please

with her magnetic personality!
