Dear Fellow Stockholders,<br />
Lion Street was founded on the basic principle that there is significant value in a national<br />
network owned and governed by its producers. As a life-centric firm, you invested in what<br />
you know, alongside people you know, and where your production and referrals can<br />
significantly influence the outcome of the company, and consequently, your investment.<br />
Our vision is closing in on reality. We have quality Firms in nearly all significant markets. Our<br />
“Firm behind the Firm” in Austin has 60 full-time employees dedicated to helping Lion Street<br />
Owners grow and prosper.<br />
At the end of 2015, your Board asked us to develop a four-year financial plan for the company. It<br />
had very aggressive goals for revenue and profitability growth. I am pleased to share that we are<br />
on target after year two to achieve these ambitious numbers.<br />

Here are the highlights of our 2017 success:<br />
Life insurance, our core business, continued to show real strength<br />
reflecting our commitment to this space.<br />
• Thirty new firms completed the Executive Committee process and became<br />
Owners—one of our strongest and largest classes ever.<br />
• We were a “top three” producer group for five major carriers.<br />
• We hired Adam Sandahl to lead the Corporate & Business Solutions<br />
Unit of Lion Street. Combined with our proprietary Non-qualified<br />
Administration System, we are positioned to gain meaningful market share<br />
in this arena.<br />
Our Lion Street Financial team has had an incredible year of growth and<br />
was awarded “Broker-Dealer of the Year” by Investment Advisor for the<br />
second consecutive year.<br />
Our 2018 focus will be on:<br />
• Discovering and implementing world class technology to accelerate cases<br />
thru underwriting at faster speeds.<br />
• Expanding the Trusted Advisor Program to become the source for<br />
pertinent information among attorneys and accountants about products<br />
and strategies.<br />
• Continuing to equip our Firm Builders to develop more efficient and<br />
profitable firms.<br />
