Two TWT readers can win double passes to a Prelude in Tea Series
concert with the legendary Jose Carbo on Sunday March 11 at the Independent
Theatre, 269 Miller Street, North Sydney from 2.30pm.
In a unique and exciting
collaboration, Australia’s premier
baritone Jos, Carb” joins
forces with emerging classical
guitarists Andrew Blanch
and Ariel Nurhadi to form The
Jos, Carb” Trio.
Their debut recital L’Heure
Exquise (The Exquisite Hour)
features music by Schubert,
Faure, Debussy, Verdi and
more, reimagined by the trio
for the colourful and original
musical setting of voice and
two guitars.
It is the latest tasty concert
in the Independent Theatre’s
popular Prelude in Tea series
– which always includes afternoon
tea with refreshments
and a mouth-watering array
of cakes and fruits!
The trio first appeared together
on stage at Canberra’s
2015 Voices in the Forest concert,
where they performed
music from Carbo’s ARIAnominated
album My Latin
Heart.
In 2018, they bring a new
program of songs and operatic
arias arranged together for
a two guitar accompaniment.

Park who is currently completing
a Bachelor of Music
Performance at the Conservatorium
of Music majoring in
Trumpet.
He has extensive performance
experience, having
been invited to play with the
Australian Youth Orchestra,
SBS Youth Orchestra, the
Salvation Army Band and the
Sydney Symphony Orchestra..
Robin has also attended the
annual International Trumpet
Guild Conference at Hershey
PA, the largest international
event for the trumpet, where
he took part in masterclasses
and performances.
He’ll also be attending the
2018 International Trumpet
Guild Conference in San Antonio
as part of the Sydney
Conservatorium trumpet ensemble.

there is no reserved seating,

March 4 with 1st East Ryde Scout Group to again
host a site at Magdala Park North Ryde from 8am
to 11am.
All members of the public are encouraged to join in with each
child under 18 in the care of a responsible adult. Targeted areas
will be the park itself, neighbouring bushland, riverfront and
Great North Walk.
Clean Up will be followed by a FREE sausage sizzle lunch.
Wear old clothes including comfortable fully-enclosed
