An Oasis of Wildlife
From derelict allotment to an oasis of wildlife and nature -
Wolverton’s Community Orchard.
It’s over 15 years since the rubbish was cleared and the site
developed. What a transformation! The site now offers an
allotment, sensory garden, wildlife area, over 50 varieties of
trees and an amazing Dragon Earth Sculpture, created by two
local artists and students from the Radcliffe School. There is
also a fantastic refurbished Victorian Railway carriage, used
during fundraising events.
The Community Orchard is open to everyone to enjoy, or join
gardening days on Tuesdays from 9.30am-3.00pm (weather
permitting) and take a tour to hear about the history of the site.

A Floral Diamond
Anniversary
Stony Stratford Floral Club are celebrating their Diamond
Anniversary this year.
The club is affiliated to the National Association of Flower
Arranging Societies (NAFAS). They hold workshops on
arrangements, floral demonstrations, as well as outings
to gardens and horticultural and flower shows. Their
Diamond Anniversary visits include the much-admired Old
Vicarage garden at East Ruston, Norfolk and Ickworth and
there are two special demonstrations, both at Stantonbury
Theatre, Milton Keynes:

Growing People
The Urb Farm with its trainees and volunteers
grows chemical free, seasonal, fresh fruit, veg,
salad & flowers for the local community. Trainees
work towards qualifications, as well as developing
self-confidence, social and functional skills.
They are part of Milton Keynes Christian
Foundation, which creates opportunities for
people and communities and works with people
from all cultures and backgrounds.
The Urb Farm works with local people -
welcoming schoolchildren, parent and baby
groups, elderly residents, children and young
people with complex learning needs and
