Three IPTS collaborates with <strong>UPSI</strong> in the field of Early Childhood Education<br />

<strong>UPSI</strong>, 12 January - Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris signed a memorandum of agreement with three Private Higher Learning Institution to collaborate on<br />

the expansion on the Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Early Childhood) with Honours Programme.<br />

The Vice Chancellor, Profesor Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar Sabran stated that early childhood education programme is an exclusive field in <strong>UPSI</strong>.<br />

“Therefore, the collaboration between <strong>UPSI</strong> along Islamic International College (IIC), MCS College and the International Institute of Management and<br />

Technology will be beneficial to both parties and it further establish <strong>UPSI</strong> as the best education university in the region,”.<br />

“The Chancellor, Her Royal Highness, Tuanku Zara Salim has informed me that it should not matter how many collaborations the university aims to do<br />

with other institutions, it should matter that the university ensures its graduates live up to the prodigious nature of the scrolls and the university’s name,”<br />

he said during a welcoming speech at the event in Seri Tanjung Hall.<br />

He also asks the cooperation of the three aforementioned education institute to emphasize the importance of ensuring the graduates produced are of<br />

high quality and capable of fulfilling the job market needs.<br />

Through the five year long deal, <strong>UPSI</strong>, serving as the referent university, and the three Private Higher Learning Institute, will provide the opportunity to<br />

produce graduates who are well educated and professional in the field of education, particularly in the field of early childhood education<br />

In attendance at the event are: Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar Sabran, who represents <strong>UPSI</strong>; Datuk Jamaludin Hasan, who represents<br />

IIC; Tan Sri Shafie Salleh, who represents MCS and Dr. Steve Yee Seng Seen, who represents IIMAT.<br />

Winter Camp <strong>2018</strong> To<br />

Promote <strong>UPSI</strong> to China<br />

<strong>UPSI</strong>, 2 February - A total of 24 students from Xining High School and Gu<br />

Yuan Experimental Primary School, both of which were based in Ning Xia,<br />

China, participated in the Winter Camp Programme which was facilitated<br />

by the Centre of Language and General Studies along with the Mobility<br />

Unit of <strong>UPSI</strong>.<br />

According to the Director of the Centre, Mr. Sasigaran Moneyam, the<br />

programme was held as a pre-promotion for both the centre and the<br />

university in conjunction with the execution of the Visit Malaysia 2020<br />

programme.<br />

“Winter Camp aims to promote both <strong>UPSI</strong> and Malaysia as well as<br />

exposing the visiting parties with courses and study programmes offered<br />

here in <strong>UPSI</strong>, particularly at the Centre of Languages and hopefully the<br />

participants would serve as a mini ambassador to both carry the image and<br />

promotes <strong>UPSI</strong> and Malaysia to their homeland,” he commented at the<br />

Closing Ceremony of Winter Camp <strong>2018</strong>.<br />

The ceremony was made official by the Chairperson of the Board of<br />

Directors Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Mohd Zahid Mohd Noordin, at the<br />

Seminar Room, Faculty of Human Development.<br />

During the 15 day long ceremony which will last from the 21st of January<br />

until the 4th of February. The students, along with their five concierge<br />

teachers will be exposed to the culture in Malaysia<br />

Among the activities that were held are: Let’s Speak: Language From<br />

and Functions Activities, Study Tour to Port Dickson and Putrajaya, Music<br />

and Dance Workshop: Malay Drum, Gamelan and Malay Traditional Dance,<br />

Learning with Puppetry, Making Traditional Dishes, Batik Drawing and<br />

Crafts.<br />
