KIDROP was the receipient of the KR Dutta Award for ‘outstanding ophthalmic services to the rural<br />
community’ given once in 4 years by the All India Ophthalmological Society, the MM Joshi Award for<br />
the Best Paper given by the Karnataka Ophthalmological Society and the Dr Midiya Memorial Award<br />
given by the ACOIN society for ‘outreach and rural work’.<br />
Training under KIDROP intensified this year with over 122 participants from the Government sector<br />
along with trainees who came from Indonesia, Mexico, Lebanon and Qatar and our Indian teams from<br />
Nagpur, Lucknow, Ranchi, Trivandrum, Calicut, Chennai, Bhopal, Mumbai and Gwalior.<br />
We are grateful to the National Health Mission, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Govt. of<br />
India for its continued support in the program. We are humbled by the constant support we receive<br />
online and offline from our wellwishers and collaborators from over 47 nations.<br />
As we enter <strong>2018</strong>, our Tenth Year since inception, and approach the 2000th infant from rural India to<br />
receive ROP treatment, we pledge to renew our commitment in providing subspecialty care to our<br />
outreach and underserved infants using affordable and innovative technology, served with passion<br />
and dedication.<br />
