Presbyopic LASIK FAQs
LOREM IPSUM
7) What are the possible complications?
DOLOR SIT AMET
You may have a primary under, or over correction. Small power may return due to
secondary regression. There is also a chance of infection or inflammation, which
can be controlled with medication.
8) Can I get glasses again?
After any refractive procedure, there is always a possibility of small power returning.
However we do careful pre-operative scans and post-operative checks to ensure that
you remain glass free for as long as possible after your surgery.
9) What are the alternatives to presbyopic LASIK?
You can choose to undergo LASIK for distance number and use glasses only for near
(reading) purposes. The other option is to undergo LASIK with mono-vision, whereone
eye is corrected for distance dominance vision and the other eye is corrected to
be dominant for near. There are also Lens bases procedures (clear lens extraction
with multifocal IOL implant) or surgical implantation of presbyopic corneal inlays.
10) Will I have to undergo cataract surgery or any other
surgery again?
Cataract is an age related opacification of the lens. It is a natural process and LASIK
(a cornea based procedure) does not change the process. LASIK can only correct the
power of your eye at the time of LASIK surgery. When the cataract matures (usually
between the average ages of 55-65), you will need to go for appropriate surgery with
the implantation of an intraocular lens.
