No opened or experienced items. Collection will benefit the Food Pantry at Most Blessed Trinity and other local ministries. Eucharistic Adoration Each Wednesday, the Church of St. Mary offers Eucharistic Adoration following the 8 a.m. Mass. In Memoriam James E. “Jim” Farmer James E. “Jim” Farmer, 62, formerly of Lake Bluff, died March 1 from complications related to West Nile Virus. He was the beloved husband of Farmer 36 years of Leslie nee Fait; adored father of Rick (Lauren) Farmer and Bill Farmer; dear son of June nee Dean and the late Ezekiel Farmer; loving brother of John (Bryce) Farmer; and devoted caregiver to his beloved dog Buddy. After growing up in Lake Bluff, Farmer moved to Montana with his family in high school and graduated from the University of Montana School of Business. He earned his CPA and worked for Arthur Andersen & Co., where he became a partner in the audit practice, specializing in telecommunications. Farmer changed careers to enable him to spend more time with his family and became CFO of several organizations including Frankel & Co., The Jacobson Group and most recently The Horton Group, where he was a member of its Board of Directors. He donated many hours to charitable and civic organizations, including coaching his sons’ soccer and basketball teams, taking leadership roles on the boards of several community organizations, including The Winnetka Community House and the New Trier Booster Club. He counseled fellow diabetics at Mt. Sinai Hospital after he underwent a successful pancreas transplant and devoted himself to volunteering at Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter and driving animal relay rescue missions. Farmer was a passionate fisherman, landscaper and drummer. Judith A. Bartuch Judith A. Bartuch (nee McGarity), 79, formerly of Lake Bluff, died Feb. 28. Bartuch was born in Chicago on Nov. 4, 1938. She was the daughter of Bertram Kenneth McGarity and Mary E. McGarity, who preceded her in death. She was a mother, homemaker and business owner of shops on Scranton Avenue in Lake Bluff and was a very active supporter of the Republican Party. She is survived by her partner, William “Bill” Goodman; children, Anne (Steve) Racine, Fred (Jill) Bartuch Jr. and Brian (Kim) Bartuch; beloved grandchildren, Jackie Longan, Bradley (Natalie), Brett and Luke Bartuch, and Max, Madison and Jack Bartuch; greatgrandson, Aaron Jeffery Bartuch; brother, Tim (Nancy) McGarity; sisters, Mary Zungrone, Colleen (Ernie) Shervey, Susan McGarity and her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Entombment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. Stephen J. Werenski Stephen J. Werenski, 73, formerly of Lake Bluff, died March 3. He was born on Nov. 21, 1944 in Waukegan. He was the only child born to the late Marjorie and Stephen Werenski, and was the beloved husband of Opal Werenski, for 54 years. Werenski worked for Hansen (later Mercer) in Lake Bluff for 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved fishing, bowling, golf, poker and his many fantasy sports leagues. Some may remember him as the infamous Dr. Bowl. But most of all, his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren, who equally loved their time with “Papa”. Steve touched the lives of many with his kind heart, sense of humor and his encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He will be remembered fondly and missed dearly. He is survived by his loving children, Kristina (Eric) and Heather (Tom); treasured grandchildren, Athena, Tommy and Lucas; and countless others who were blessed to call him uncle, cousin, friend, colleague or a second dad.
