UW115 Contour Probe<br />
Sensitivity: Mi-Glow UW#1 offers a wide range of sensitivity through its<br />
broad range of particle sizes - 1 um to 100 um. This sensitivity provides a<br />
high probability of detection for fine non-visual discontinuities as well as<br />
enhancement of larger discontinuities.<br />
Preparation: It is suggested that Mi-Glow UW #1 be added to water at a<br />
concentration of approximately 2 oz avoirdupois weight to one gallon of<br />
water. The preparation may vary due to customer practice and application.<br />
The storage reservoir should have mechanical or air agitation to help keep<br />
particles in suspension. When these particles are used in a salt water<br />
environment, a fresh batch solution should be made daily to prevent<br />
corrosion of the particles.<br />

The underwater contour probes are electromagnets capable of inducing a strong magnetic<br />
field in ferromagnetic materials for the purpose of performing magnetic particle inspections.<br />
The UW115 produces an AC magnetic field from a GFI protected 115VAC power source.<br />
The flexibility of the articulating legs provide for maximum surface contact and allows<br />
application of the magnetic field to the precise area of inspection. The leg assemblies may<br />
be removed for cleaning and lubrication or replacement. The Contour Probe body is molded<br />
from high impact glass filled Nylon and is internally encapsulated with polyurethane. The leg<br />
joint exiting through the body is sealed between the laminates to prevent water migration.<br />
The UW115 is provided with a four foot Neoprene, #16, 3-conductor “pig tail”. This pig<br />
tail/cord is to be used in conjunction with the users approved underwater connector or<br />
spliced to a #16, 3-conductor underwater cable.<br />
