Kinship is a local non-profit organization with a mission to “improve<br />
lives by establishing quality relationships between individuals and caring<br />
volunteers for the purpose of promoting stability, support, friendship,<br />
and healthy community through mentoring.” Kinship matches<br />
children between the ages of five and 15 with caring adult mentors<br />
from the community. Kinship mentees are awesome kids who are just in need of a<br />
caring adult mentor and support in their lives. Mentors and mentees spend between<br />
three and six hours per month together and matches are expected to last at least one<br />
year. We have many kids on our waiting list and have a huge need for people to<br />
volunteer as mentors, especially men and couples! Together, mentors and mentees<br />
can go fishing, play catch, sew, bake, build furniture, go bowling, play board<br />
games, go for a walk, and much more! If you are interested in being a mentor or<br />
have a child who could benefit from mentoring, please contact Katy Gonzalez at<br />
