Apply for <strong>Summer</strong> <strong>2018</strong>!<br />
How will I make a difference?<br />
You will work with peers to fight<br />
the summer slide - the decline of<br />
literacy skills in low-income children<br />
in grades K-3 over the summer.<br />
At summer schools and<br />
community sites, you’ll provide<br />
reading tutoring to children who<br />
are performing below grade-level<br />
and are most in need of support.<br />
VISTAs also lead groups of children<br />
in creative and educational<br />
enrichment activities.<br />

Do I have what it takes?<br />
You should have:<br />
a passion to help children<br />
a desire to make a difference<br />
You must:<br />
serve full-time for 8 weeks<br />
June-August<br />
be 18 years old<br />
be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent<br />
resident, asylee, refugee, or<br />
have DACA status<br />
You may (with approval):<br />
hold an outside part time job<br />
attend school part time<br />
