- Medical Administrative Assisting and Medical Billing and Coding students must wear school-issued<br />

scrubs or Professional Dress (see below) clothing at all times while on externship, depending on site<br />

expectations. Clothing must be clean, wrinkle-free, and unstained.<br />

- Paralegal Studies students must wear Professional Dress (see below) clothing at all times while on<br />

externship. Clothing must be clean, wrinkle-free, and unstained.<br />

- Close toed shoes are required at all times.<br />

- <strong>School</strong>-issued identification badge is required at all times.<br />

Interview Dress Code<br />

- All students must wear Professional Dress (see below) clothing for all mock interviews, externship<br />

interviews, and job interviews.<br />

Professional Dress Code<br />

- Acceptable tops include button down shirts, blouses, and sweaters. Sleeveless tops, or tops that expose<br />

midriff, cleavage, lower back, or undergarments are not acceptable. Avoid low-cut blouses or spaghetti<br />

straps.<br />

- Acceptable jackets include button down or zippered suit-style jackets.<br />

- Acceptable pants include slacks or pants made of firmer fabric such as wool or cotton. Denim jeans are<br />

permitted in school if dark colored and without wear or fading but are not permitted while on externship.<br />

- Acceptable skirts and dresses extend to or below the knee and have a conservative neckline.<br />

- Solid colored leggings may be worn with matching shoes and pants or skirts. Leggings or stockings with<br />

bright colors or busy patterns are not acceptable. Leggings worn as pants are not permitted.<br />

- Casual fabrics such as denim or flannel shirts and items with obvious wear are not acceptable.<br />

- Acceptable shoes for male students include neutral colored (black, blue, brown, grey) dress shoes.<br />

- Acceptable shoes for female students include neutral colored flats or pumps. Strappy shoes or shoes with<br />

2” or greater heels are not permitted.<br />

On-Campus Grooming Standards<br />

- Students must practice good personal hygiene habits; daily showers and use of deodorant are required.<br />

- Smoke odor or strong perfumes or colognes are not acceptable.<br />

- Hair must be clean and styled in an appropriate manner. Extreme trends such as dreadlocks and<br />

mohawks are not acceptable.<br />

- Nose, ear, and facial hair must be neatly trimmed or maintained.<br />

- Fingernails must be clean and trimmed and painted conservatively if decorated. Note – use of nail polish<br />

is not permitted for Massage Therapy students.<br />

- Jewelry should be kept minimal and conservative. Large, noisy, or distracting jewelry is prohibited.<br />

Gauges should be removed or must be closed with plugs matching skin tone.<br />

- Exposed body piercings such as tongue, cheek, or lip piercings are prohibited.<br />

- Make-up must appear professional and natural and should be conservative in styles and colors. Bright or<br />

excessively dark make up is not acceptable.<br />
