The areas <strong>and</strong> steps for inspection are determined according to various malfunctions. Use the chart below to<br />
verify the malfunction symptoms in order to diagnose the related area.<br />
I. Insufficient <strong>air</strong>flow <strong>and</strong>/or no <strong>air</strong>flow from <strong>air</strong> ports<br />
1 Insufficient <strong>air</strong>flow <strong>and</strong>/or no <strong>air</strong>flow from <strong>air</strong> ports.<br />

Troubleshooting procedure<br />
Step Inspection Action<br />
1 Inspect <strong>air</strong>flow mode control <strong>system</strong> of front<br />
climate control unit.<br />
• When <strong>air</strong>flow mode control knob is operated,<br />
check whether appropriate resistance can be felt<br />
<strong>and</strong> the knob can be moved to its full range freely.<br />

2 Verify whether malfunction is in vent mode or<br />
other modes.<br />
• Does <strong>air</strong> blow out in vent mode?<br />
Yes Go to step 5.<br />

Go to next step.<br />
3 Inspect <strong>air</strong> port.<br />
• Is <strong>air</strong> port clogged?<br />
4 Verify that duct in dashboard is installed.<br />
• Is duct in dashboard properly installed?<br />
5 Verify whether malfunction is in heat mode or<br />
defroster mode.<br />
• Does <strong>air</strong> blow out in heat mode?<br />
Yes<br />
No<br />

Remove obstruction, <strong>and</strong> then go to<br />
step 9.<br />
Go to next step.<br />
Inspect <strong>air</strong> passage for clogging,<br />
deformity <strong>and</strong> <strong>air</strong> leakage, then go<br />
to step 9.<br />
Install duct securely in the proper<br />
position, then go to step 9.<br />
Go to next step.<br />
Check <strong>air</strong> port for clogging, then go<br />
to step 9.<br />
6 Inspect defroster mode.<br />
• Dose <strong>air</strong> blow out in defroster mode?<br />
Yes Operation is normal. Recheck<br />
malfunction symptoms.<br />
No<br />
Go to next step.<br />
