The medal is awarded to the student who graduates with the highest standing in his or her institution. Fatal collision on Highway 41 Fatal collision on Hwy 41 Oyen RCMP responded to a serious motor-vehicle collision on Hwy 41 at the intersection of Hwy 570, southeast of Oyen on Wed. Oct. 4. Initial investigation shows that a Chevrolet Cavalier was travelling on Hwy 570 and stopped at the intersection of Hwy 41. The Cavalier then proceeded into the driving lane of Hwy 41 and was struck by an oncoming F-350 that was travelling northbound on Hwy 41. Both occupants of the Cavalier, a 81-year-old male passenger and 80-year-old female driver from Purdue, Saskatchewan died in the collision. The driver of the F-350, a 40-year-old man, sustained minor injuries. An RCMP collision analyst is assisting with the investigation to identify any contributing factors in the collision. Drug seizure Wainwright RCMP members stopped a vehicle on Oct. 4 in Wainwright for a traffic violation.
