-Teachers and staff from complex schools visit other schools in West Hawaii to
give the school being visited feedback on their implementation of their chosen
instructional improvement area such as those listed above. School staff visiting
schools also has the opportunity to take insights from the visit to take back to
assist their own school.
-This effort has given our school the opportunity to improve instruction for all
students through a process of collaborative professional development led by our
own teachers.
-Over the years, almost all staff has led as part of the ILT and we are grateful
for their efforts on behalf of improving instruction at Holualoa.
-Our efforts for the final quarter will be focused on “learning targets; assisting
students in clearly understanding what they will be learning each day, how they
will demonstrate it, and what success in learning will look like.
-This year’s ILT team is: Ms. Crawford, Ms. Miller, Dr. Kennedy, Mrs. Ichishita, Ms.
Haupert, Mrs. Fryer, Mr. Hale, Ms. Cook, Mrs. Rossman, and the Holualoa
administration.
I`O PRIDE
Thanks so much for all your fund run donations! Grade 2 is attending 3 field trips
in the fourth quarter thanks to PTO support. One field trip can cost a grade level
well over on thousand dollars due to entrance and bus fees. We are very grateful
to our PTO for raising these funds for the keiki. Mahalo for all your support!
Grade 1 wishes to thank our parents who volunteered their time and energy
at our January AR Field Day Celebration. We are looking for a dozen or so
parents again for our upcoming AR Field Day on Friday, May 4th, from 12:30
