Greenwood, Calgary, Halifax, Gagetown & Petawawa. Murray completed tours in Damascus and
Cyprus and on the HMCS Margaree and at the Canadian Forces Fleet School. He retired in
February 2010 as Chief Warrant Officer with 35 + years of service. He was very committed to
Alcoholics Anonymous always offering his time & ear to listen & help others in their recovery. He
was an avid jogger, loved to play golf with his friends, collect sports cards & thoroughly enjoyed
going to movies with his son, Nick.

Scotia, Canada 5 . He died on 17 Oct 1958 in Dawson Memorial Hospital, Bridgewater, Lunenburg,
Nova Scotia, Canada 5 . She married (2) SIDNEY HILTZ.

From her obituary: During her early days, she worked as a cook in several lumber camps and for a
brief time ran her own lumber business. She was also employed as a bookkeeper for many years
and then turned to her love of handcrafts, sewing for Suttles and Seawinds; and owning her own
business. She is well known for the quality of her workmanship and has received several prizes
and awards in competitions for crocheting and quilting over the years. Her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren were a source of great joy in her life and she took pleasure in stories of their
adventures.

FUNERAL LARGEST EVER HELD IN THE COMMUNITY
New Ross - Residents of New Ross and nearby communities were deeply shocked when learning
of the passing of Percy Reeves Friday afternoon at the D.M. Hospital, Bridgewater, where he was
taken the previous day, following a shooting accident at Nine Mile Lake.
The death of Mr. Reeves, young husband and father of three small children, made the third tragic
accident to occur in the community within a week. R.C.M.P. requested a helicopter to take Reeves
to hospital as the area in which he was wounded was inaccessible by land. The helicopter flew the
victim to the Lunenburg County Exhibition Grounds at Bridgewater and he was transferred from
there to hospital by ambulance. The bullet hit Reeves in the hip and lodged in his stomach.
Mr. Reeves was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Reeves of Forties, New Ross, and was 32 years old.
He attended the Lake Ramsay school and when completing his education he was engaged in
lumbering and trucking until a few years ago when he and his brother Clifford operated a sawmill.
In 1946 he married Miss Della Russell of New Ross, who survives him. Surviving also are his
three small children Grant, Valerie and Barbara; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Reeves, Forties;
five brothers Clifford, Maurice, Courtney all, of Forties; Basil of West Northfield; Orin of New Ross
also four sisters, Madeline, (Mrs. Melvin Walker), Upper Granville; Elsie, ( Mrs. Harold French),
Maine; Elva, (Mrs. Ernest Bezanson), Ontario and Pansy, (Mrs. Foster Hiltz) ofForties.
