Thank you for allowing me the privilege and it has been an honour to be the spokesman on behalf of Easterns Nomads for the 2017/18 year. I hereby submit my report per portfolio for this AGM on 12 th April 2018 Immediate Past Captain Thank you Vic Langkilde for your assistance, support and guidance. Vice Captain Mark Ablett’s fundraising aim this year was to involve Easterns Nomads with a more hands-on approach, including some fun elements. Funds totalling R688 490 were raised and a very big THANK YOU to Peter Chown (HLB Barnett & Chown) who boosted our fundraising efforts significantly! Our beneficiaries for the year were: Barnyard and Agony Draw R 64 420 Angel Wings R167 194 Family Bowls Day R 20 110 SANParks East Rand Honourary Rangers R 89 031 AMEF Golf Day R 92 350 Hospice East Rand R 15 390 Braille Machine Promo R 51 000 Usizolwethu LSEN School R 88 175 HLB Barnet and Chown section 18 R 445 000 Olivers House R 72 120 Memorial golf day R 15 610 Braille Machines R 51 000 R 688 490 Didasko PreSchool R 12 000 Junior Vice Captain Hector King had a busy year with his furtherance of golf commitments together with his responsibility as an Ekurhuleni executive committee member as our Easterns Nomads representative – some of his activities during the year included June 2017: Memorial day : Springs Country Club Funds raised for East Rand Hospice totalled R15610.00 and another R4600.00 in raffle tickets. Funds were used to purchase 15 Tomtom GPS units for nursing staf October 2017: BFM Junior Tournament: ERPM Golf Club EGU Ladies Open: Benoni Country Club. Sponsored Golfers Club vouchers for R5000.00 EGU Presidents Golf Day together with Easterns Captain’s November 2017: EGU Junior Champion of Champions: State Mines.Sponsored tournament for R15330.00. 60 players and prize giving December 2017: EGU Junior Prize Giving: Serengeti Golf Club January 2018: Nomads Golf RSA Inland Tournament: Benoni Country Club January 2018: Pollak Park Golf Club. Donated Swing Explainer equipment to Johannes Geldenhuys Golf Academy. The academy trains 225 people, mostly juniors at Pollak, Delmas and Heidelberg and also raises funds for disadvantaged juniors. Donated 16 golf bags and 3 sets of clubs donated by Easterns Nomads to EGU for use by SADGA. Club Secretary Mark Strydom as usual has handled this portfolio with distinction keeping all up to date and informed
