Modderfontein Golf Course
Dear Nomads,
We have been most fortunate to host our second game of the year
and yet another spectacular day was had by all at Modderfontein Golf Club.
By spectacular I mean the weather and the company, due to relentless rain a week prior to the game, no
carts were allowed on the course and the Nomads were forced to walk, what was a saturated golf
course, which meant it played long and walked even longer. I am sure that all Nomads who have step
counters surpassed their goals for the week.
Many thanks to Danny Swarts (GM) of Modderfontein Golf Club, members and the whole team for allowing
us the use of their facilities.
To my fourball Danny Swarts, Scott Skinner (KIA) representative and Mike King thank you gentleman, it
was a long walk and things did not start for us all that well but our golf swings improved as the day went
on.

We have seen a large contingent of guests and visitors at our Cargo Cup in December and both games in

GOLFORAMA: The Nomads are, without doubt, the longest serving members of the Southern African
Tour family, providing live scoring to the Tour for over five decades. There are various tour events coming

Rain, rain and more RAIN
That is what we had for two solid weeks before our game at
Modderfontein.
The day before the game, the club announced that no carts
would be allowed on the course, due to the wet and muddy conditions!
This resulted in a number of guys having to withdraw
from the game, as they are unable to walk! Thank you to everyone
for being accommodating when I had to reshuffle the timesheet
in a hurry.

Everyone has got the COVID game down to a tee! Thank you for
sending me the pics of the score cards timeously and clearly! It
was an easy task to capture the scores! Make sure that the
hand writing is legible, and the score cards neatly filled in, as this
avoids errors in transferring the scores!
Our net game is at ERPM on the 27 March. I will send the entry
form out in due course, as it is a long way off!
