You can now book online by visiting www.highcliffecoachholidays.co.uk 

You can check out further details online with drop off points and timings. Pick-up times are available by 

placing your selection in your basket - don't worry there's no commitment to buy! Due to the nature of our 

business all website bookings are provisional until confirmed by us. We ask you for your preferred seating 

allocation during the booking process and will confirm your seat numbers after you have booked. We shall 

try to meet your seating requirements where possible, but cannot guarantee this. 

Don’t worry - you can still book direct with a human being!!

Entrance tickets not included unless stated. All seats are sold on a first come, first served basis. We allocate seats on our excursions which will be 

honoured wherever possible. However, we reserve the right to change your seat should circumstances deem necessary. We will make every effort to carry 

out the programme and itineraries as advertised, but must reserve the right to cancel any excursion or alter routes, timings or stopping places without 

prior notice due to circumstances beyond our control. 

Cancellations & Refunds. If we are forced to cancel any excursion, a full refund will be made. In the event of a customer cancelling we shall apply 

charges in line with the scale below. Tickets cannot be transferred to future trips.

For the vast majority of trips we aim to stay at the destination for around 4½ hours. We may have to alter timings if necessary due to

Friday 1st 

Abbotsbury Swannery & Sub Tropical Gardens ROUTE Y 

Established by Benedictine Monks during the 1040’s, Abbotsbury Swannery is a 

unique attraction where you are able to walk through the heart of a colony of Mute 

Swans. At this time of year there should be plenty of Signets to see..ahhh. 

Abbotsbury is located to the west of Weymouth and offers a fantastic day out. 

After spending time at The Swannery we travel to the nearby Sup Tropical Gardens, 

described by Alan Titchmarsh as “One of the finest gardens I have ever visited”. 

This magnificent 20 acre site offers stunning views of the Jurrasic Coast and is filled 

with exotic and rare plants from all over the world.

Brighton

One of our most popular destinations - great for a day out by the sea. Brighton has a 

unique charm with elegant grand Regency architecture, wide boulevard-style streets 

and a long sweeping seafront promenade. A cultural melting-pot, the town has 

vibrant museums, galleries, fabulous shopping and a huge choice of eating places. 

Whether you want to visit the magnificent Royal Pavilion, spend time on the iconic 

Palace Pier or stroll along The Lanes, Brighton has much to offer.

Worthing 

ROUTE A 

Worthing has become a popular destination with our customers for a day out. Rich in 

history, the town grew to become a firm favourite with the royal, the rich and the 

fashionable. The town centre and promenade are on the level making it ideal to 

explore the shops and pavement cafes.

Swanage Railway & The Purbecks 

ROUTE Y 

A treat for all ages. We board the beautifully restored Swanage Railway at Norden 

with views of Corfe Castle, for a nostalgic steam train ride through the beautiful 

Purbecks to Swanage. After enjoying some free time in this attractive seaside town, 

on the beach or exploring the shops, we return to Norden by train and head home. 

This is a lovely day out. Price includes train fare.

Saturday 2nd 

Didcot Railway Centre - Oxfordshire 

ROUTE B 

Didcot Railway Centre is a living museum of the Great Western Railway in Didcot, 

Oxfordshire. See the unique collection of Great Western Railway steam engines, 

coaches, wagons, buildings and small relics; and a re-creation of Brunel’s broad 

gauge railway. Plenty of time here to stroll around the engine sheds and take short 

rides on the trains and ask the enthusiast volunteers any questions you may have. 

Our visit is scheduled to be a steam train. A really popular destination and a great

Monet & Architecture – National Gallery 

ROUTE A 

Book now for this rare opportunity to see over 75 paintings by Claude Monet at The 

National Gallery in London. Probably the most popular of the French Impressionists; 

it is nearly 20 years since this size exhibition was hosted in the UK for a Monet 

collection. This exhibition will look at Monet’s career through the buildings he 

painted. He painted buildings and famous landmarks across Europe including 

Normandy, Paris, London, and Venice. Explore how Monet used architecture to 

create some of his most famous and lesser-known works. Limited availability. Choice

Wednesday 6th 

Bombay Sapphire Distillery Tour & Winchester ROUTE B 

Come along for a tour of this remarkable site at Laverstoke in Hampshire. After 

stopping in Winchester, with time to explore and enjoy an early lunch, we arrive at 

the distillery around 1.00pm. Bombay Sapphire is one of the worlds premium Gins 

with its production distillery beautifully situated in an historic old Mill on the River 

Test. It now offers a fascinating tour of the facility where you can discover the exotic 

botanicals grown in the striking Glasshouses, see the huge copper infusion Stills and 

explore the history of the drink. The experience culminates with a tasting in The Mill 

Bar. Self Discovery tour - on some sections we will be joined by a host.

West Dean Gardens 

ROUTE C 

These award-winning gardens are beautifully situated north of Chichester with views 

over the surrounding South Downs. Owned by the Edward James Foundation the 

gardens were laid out in the 1890s and 1900s featuring a Victorian Walled Kitchen 

Garden, 300 foot-long Edwardian Pergola, naturalistic Spring Garden, Sunken 

Garden, Orchards and circular arboretum walk set in beautiful parkland. A huge 

variety of plants - from peaches to peppers, cucumbers to coleus, aubergines to 

orchids grow in the 16 glasshouses and frames. Homemade food and refreshments 

served in the Gardens Restaurant, alongside the Gift Shop. A wonderful day for the 

avid gardener. Price includes entrance. 


Thursday 7th 

Warner Bros Studio Tour - The Making of Harry Potter ROUTE A 

Surely a must for any ‘Potter’ fan! The wonderful special effects and amazing creatures 

have made this iconic series beloved to both young and old – and now, for the first 

time, the doors are open for everyone at the studio where it first began. You’ll have 

the chance to go behind-the-scenes and see many things the camera never showed. 

From breathtakingly detailed sets to stunning costumes, props and animatronics, 

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London provides a unique showcase of the extraordinary 

British artistry, technology and talent that went into making the most successful film 

series of all time. Now includes the Hogwart Express and Platform 9 3 ⁄4.

Thursday 7th 

Hampton Court Palace River Cruise 

ROUTE K 

A memorable day out. We board our River Boat at Chertsey at 11.00am and have a 

memorable 2¼ hour cruise with commentary up the River Thames through Sunbury 

Lock and passing lovely riverside properties, some formerly owned by such stars as 

Diana Dors. Approaching from the river gives a unique view of the Palace - we shall 

arrive at 1.15pm, departing at 4.15pm. Plenty of time to explore the magnificent 

Tudor Palace with its remarkable history, stroll around the gardens and view the 

world famous maze. We would recommend that you bring a packed lunch to have 

on the boat to make the most of your time at Hampton Court.

Nymans – National Trust 

ROUTE A 

In the late 19th century the creative Messel family bought the Nymans estate in the 

Sussex High Weald with the intention of making a dream country house. They 

created one of the country's great gardens with experimental designs and plants 

from around the world. Nymans became a garden lovers’ home, a place where the 

Messels entertained family and friends, relaxed in the garden, picnicked and walked 

in the woods. Partially destroyed by fire in 1947, the house and ruins sit within a 

romantic and picturesque setting. Nymans is the perfect place to relax, stroll in the 

garden and enjoy some time out. There are art exhibitions and creative hands on 

workshops in the rustic potting shed, garden workshops, guided walks and free

This renowned garden set in the beautiful Surrey countryside is famous for its

this mature woodland garden stretches over 25 acres and has lakes, ponds and a 

wonderful woodland walk. There are many rare trees and shrubs, wild flower areas, 

the bog garden with its giant stepping stones and huge Gunnera and the peaceful 

enclosed Tennis Court Garden with raised beds and a central fountain. It is an 

enchanting garden that is maintained in such a way as to allow meadow grasses,

Longleat Safari Park

Chichester & Arundel

Steeped in over 2000 years of history, Chichester is a delightful destination. 

Dominated by the 900 year old Cathedral the town has many fine buildings and also 

offers the visitor excellent shopping. Our day out also includes a visit to the 

charming town of Arundel which hugs the River Arun. It’s the perfect place to have a 

wander and cup of tea surrounded by lovely countryside. You may choose to spend 

all your time in Chichester. 


Tuesday 12th 

Portsmouth - Historic Dockyard 

OR Gunwharf Quays Shopping 

ROUTE B 

Enjoy a great day out to Portsmouth. We drop close to the excellent Gunwharf 

Quays shopping and leisure development and the Historic Dockyard. Located on the 

harbour, GunWharf is site of the impressive Spinnaker Tower and over 95 shopping 

outlets and 30 cafes and restaurants. Shops include Next Clearance, Animal, Fred 

Perry, Barbour, Levis, Karen Millen and many more. Boat trips also available from the 

marina. Alternatively you can spend your day in the superb Historic Dockyard which 

traces the history of the Royal Navy over the ages. Attractions include Nelson’s HMS 

Victory, Henry VIII’s Mary Rose, HMS Warrioer 1860, Action Stations and much more.

Wednesday 13th 

Henley with delicious Afternoon Cream Tea Cruise ROUTE A 

Adjacent to the River Thames, Henley is best known for its annual Royal Regatta, 

attracting some of the world’s finest rowers. Why not tread in the footsteps of 

Redgrave & Pinsent and stop off at the town’s award-winning River and Rowing 

Museum. But there is more to the town, with its historic church, Town Hall, market 

square and excellent shops and restaurants. After time in the town we head to 

Maidenhead to complete the day with a wonderful 2 hour cruise in our covered river 

boat. Whilst on board we pass Cliveden House and the glorious riverside houses of 

the many celebrities at Bray. To cap it all, we have included a delicious Cream Tea – 

scones, jam, clotted cream, tea or coffee – naughty, but nice!

Dorset County Scenic Drive with Fish ‘n’ Chips ROUTE Z 

Lovely day out to enjoy the beautiful scenery of our home county. We are lucky 

enough to live here but we hope to show you some areas which you may not have 

seen yet! We will cover as much as we can during the day from the rolling 

countryside, historic towns and sweeping farmland to the stunning World Heritage 

coast. At lunchtime we will take a break from the exploring and enjoy some delicious 

Fish ‘n’ Chips in Bridport. Lovely! Price includes food. 


Thursday 14th 

Kew Gardens 

ROUTE A 

Come along for a lovely day out to Kew Gardens, now a World Heritage Site. Plenty 

to see at this fantastic destination including amazing treetop views from the 

spectacular Rhizotron and Xstrata walkway. Located in 121 hectares with magnificent 

glasshouses and beautifully landscaped gardens beside the River Thames, this once 

royal residence represents 250 years of historical gardens. You may like to enjoy a 

guided tour around the Gardens on the Kew Explorer land train and learn about 

Kew’s flora and fauna, historic buildings and vital conservation work. Extra charge

Monday 18th 

Sherborne and Dorset Villages 

ROUTE Y 

Sherborne is, perhaps, the most beautiful town in Dorset and has an abundance of 

medieval buildings, superb Abbey, world famous Schools and picturesque 

Almshouse. Sherborne has a lovely intimate atmosphere and is a delight to explore 

with an array of independent shops selling a variety of goods, including fashion 

boutiques and Art & Antique Dealers. Enjoy lunch in the one of the cafes, restaurants 

or pubs before we leave the town for a tour back through some of the charming rural 

villages of the county. A great day out. 


Tuesday 19th 

Blenheim Palace – Oxfordshire 

ROUTE A 

Set in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, awe-inspiring Blenheim Palace is one of the finest 

18th Century Baroque houses in Britain, built on a grand scale in 2100 acres of 

parkland landscaped by Capability Brown and beautiful formal gardens. Famously 

the birthplace of Winston Churchill and the setting for many feature films, the interior 

has a superb collection of tapestries, paintings, porcelain and furniture. 



Tuesday 19th 

Oxford – City of Dreaming Spires 

ROUTE A 

Oxford, the ‘city of dreaming spires’ is steeped in a rich and fascinating history. 

Famous for its prestigious Oxford University, the city is very pedestrian friendly; a 

bustling cosmopolitan place with a lovely riverside setting and a lively mix of 

restaurants, bars and superb shopping. The Radcliffe Camera, Bodleian Library and 

Bridge of Sighs make up just a few of the famous picturesque buildings of Oxford. Its 

charming scenery has been the inspiration for many, including Lewis Carroll and 

J.R.R Tolkien. There are also many recognisable scenes from popular films such as 

Harry Potter and TV series like Inspector Morse. Come along for a great day out. 


Tuesday 19th 

Royal Ascot 

ROUTE A 

Come along to one of the most glamourous events in the British Sporting calendar 

with a chance to enjoy the superb racing. Today there are three Group One races - 

the Queen Anne Stakes, the King’s Stand Stakes and the St James’s Palace Stakes 

which often attracts horses that have run in the English, French and Irish 2,000 

Guineas. We have reserved tickets for the Windsor Enclosure, which is located on 

the straight mile, offering a vibrant and exciting experience. Be the first to see the 

Royal Procession as The Queen’s landau passes the railings and the first to hear the 

thunder of the hooves. There are a number of food and drink outlets available or 

picnics are allowed - they must be brought in a picnic hamper or cool bag/box. 

Although no formal dress code applies, racegoers are encouraged to wear smart 

clothes. Please note that fancy dress, novelty, and branded or promotional clothing 

is not allowed, and bare chests are not permitted at any time!! Subject to traffic we 

will arrive at Ascot around 12.00pm, 2.00pm Royal Procession, 2.30pm First Race, 

5.35pm Last Race, 6.30pm Leave Ascot. Coach Park 15min walk.

WestQuay Shopping or Ikea - Southampton 

ROUTE C 

Great value day out to the excellent WestQuay shopping centre in the centre of 

Southampton. Choose from over 100 stores including John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, 

Dorothy Perkins, Gap, Evans, Wallis and Next. On the top level there is a superb 

selection of restaurants to choose from - Nando’s, Pizza Express, The Chicago Rib 

Shack, Wagamama and many more... The massive Ikea store is close by if you want 

some inspirational ideas for the home. The new £70 million WestQuay Watermark 

development is open with a new public plaza created and a host of new restaurants, 

bars and leisure facilities available. 



Isle of Wight Tour with local guide 

ROUTE A 

ONE OF OUR MOST POPULAR DAYS. After joining the ferry from Lymington we 

will be joined by one of our local guides for a tour of the Island – we try to see as 

much as possible during the day. The island boasts 60 miles of spectacular coastline 

and beautiful countryside. We take in many of the best sights and usually include 

Newport, Sandown, Godshill, Shanklin, Ventnor, Freshwater and Alum Bay. There will 

be a main stop for lunch. A great day out. 



Devon & Dorset Drive with Roast Carvery 

ROUTE Z 

Lovely day out to enjoy the beautiful scenery of West Dorset and East Devon before 

stopping at the excellent Hare & Hounds Pub near Sidmouth. This traditional country 

pub has wooden beams and log fires with lovely views down to Sidmouth and the 

sea. We have included a delicious carvery with an extensive choice of fresh 

vegetables, gravy and extras. Pudding is available on the day for an additional cost. 

Afterwards we shall head in to Sidmouth with time to stroll along the seafront and 

explore the shops. 


Thursday 21st

Wow! Undoubtably one of the best National Trust properties we have visited. 

Located in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds with extensive grounds, Buscot Park is the 

family home of Lord Faringdon. Built in the Italianate country houses style between 

1780 and 1783, the estate has a fascinating history which has left the estate with a 

remarkable legacy. There is a variety of attractions - from formal gardens to 

woodlands. There are plenty of lovely viewpoints and a selection of architectural 

sculptures adds interest to your visit. Don’t miss the stunning water gardens 

designed by Harold Peto. The house does not disappoint and houses the wonderful 

Faringdon Collection of fine paintings and furniture collected over a century. With 

paintings by Rembrandt, Reynolds, Rubens, van Dyck and Murillo and furniture by 

Robert Adams this is now a very important collection of works. Lovely tearoom on

turns for the journey back to Windsor arriving at 1.30pm. While you take in the

Extended and improved. Step back in time with us, as we head first to one of our 

favourite stopping places, Marlborough. This archetypal English Market town has 

that ‘film location’ quality and is a great spot to stroll around and enjoy a nice lunch. 

In the afternoon we head to nearby Kintbury and board the 'Kennet Valley' horse 

drawn barge for a 2½ hour cruise along the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal. 

This wide beam passenger boat was purpose built for carrying passengers and is 

powered solely by the towing action of the horse making for a tranquil journey. 

Facilities onboard include a well stocked bar serving tea, coffee, soft drinks and 

beverages. Whilst on board we have included a cup of tea & slice of cake for you! 

A lovely day out.

Sudeley Castle & Gardens

Located in The Cotswolds, Sudeley Castle & Gardens is a popular visitor attraction 

with award-winning gardens. The castle has played an important role in history, with 

royal visitors including Richard III, Elizabeth I and Lady Jane Grey. The last of Henry 

VIII’s six wives, Katherine Parr lived and died in the castle. Inside, the castle contains 

many fascinating treasures including a collection of artefacts and works of art of 

great historical importance. The magnificent gardens are world-renowned, providing 

variety and colour from spring through to autumn. The centrepiece is the Queens 

Garden, so named because four of England’s queens – Anne Boleyn, Katherine Parr, 

Lady Jane Grey and Elizabeth I – once admired the hundreds of varieties of roses

Brown and home of the Earl of Carnarvon, Highclere has been described as the

selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs or why not enjoy some takeaway fish 

and chips. Head to the harbour lined by Georgian houses and watch the fishing 

boats or take a pleasure boat ride. For the more adventurous you could take a ride 

on the Jurassic Skyline Tower which rises 53 metres above the resort’s well-known 

Festival Pier with views of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast. Plenty more for the day, you may 

like to walk up to Nothe Fort at the entrance to Weymouth harbour to explore the

Adam Henson’s Cotswolds Farm Park

Come along for a fun day out to this award winning Farm Park, run by the popular 

farmer and rural TV presenter, Adam Henson. Started by his father, Joe in 1971 as a 

means to publicise the survival of rare breeds, the park has gone on to become one

as well as a flock of pelicans on pelican island, one of the largest free flying parrot

two rescued crocodiles. There is also a group of Hermann’s tortoises in the park, and

Day 2: Today we head for the 

remarkable Bodnant Gardens. One of 

the most beautiful gardens anywhere 

in the UK and a jewel of the National 

Trust. Set over 80 acres the gardens 

grow a bewildering variety of plants and 

trees from all over the world. Afterwards 

we head for Conwy. A charming walled 

town with a fairytale castle. Entrance to

Day 3: A day at leisure today to relax 

and enjoy the many facilities and 

activities on offer at the hotel. There 

are wonderful grounds to stroll around, 

lovely lounges to relax in and a choice 

of eating venues. 

Day 4: Another excursion today as we 

enjoy perhaps some of the most scenic 

country in Britain, Snowdonia National 

Park including stops along the way. 

Day 5: We travel home with comfort 

stops on route as required. Returned to 

your local pick up point around 5.00pm.

Hall. One of the finest Elizabethan 

mansions in the country, the house 

stands surrounded by a country park 

containing rare breeds of cattle and 

sheep. The walled gardens around the 

house include a herb garden, orchard 

and decorative gardens. Excellent 

National Trust gift shop and cafe.

Day 4: Today we have a short morning 

excursion to Newark-on-Trent. This 

historic castle town on the River Trent is 

steeped in history and has one of the 

finest Georgian squares in the country, 

surrounded by shops and cafes. 

Returning to the hotel for free time to 

relax and enjoy the facilities of the hotel. 

Day 5: We depart the hotel after 

breakfast and have a stop for lunch and 

a refreshment stop before arriving back 

in the local area around 4.00/5.00pm.
