Dresden
Day 1: London – Berlin
We journey aboard Eurostar from London to
Brussels and continue by rail to Berlin where we
check in at our hotel.
Day 2: Berlin
The flourishing capital of Germany is a fascinating
place to explore. Our coach tour makes it easy
to get around this large city and see some of the
main sights before exploring on foot. Dinner is
included at our hotel tonight.
Day 3: Berlin – Dresden
After a leisurely morning we take the train to
Dresden, a beautiful city shaped by the soaring
towers and dominant domes of its palaces,
churches and stately homes. Our city tour is a
great way to see the highlights, after which you
can explore at leisure. Dinner is included at our
hotel tonight.
Day 4: Colditz & Meissen
This morning we visit Colditz Castle, which
was used to detain significant allied prisoners
Moritzburg Castle
of war and became the subject of numerous
legendary escapes. In the afternoon we visit the
nearby House of MEISSEN®, where this exclusive
porcelain has been produced for more than 300
years.
Day 5: Weiβeritz Valley Steam Railway,
Pillnitz Palace & Elbe Paddle Steamer Cruise
Today we get to experience one of the oldest
steam trains in Saxony, which weaves through the
beautiful scenery of the Eastern Ore Mountains.
We also visit the beautiful gardens of Pillnitz
Palace before boarding a paddle steamer for
a relaxing cruise on the Elbe to Dresden with
coffee and cake included.
Day 6: Löβnitz Valley Steam Railway,
Moritzburg Castle & Wackerbarth Castle
Our second steam train journey takes you
through picturesque villages, vineyards and
dreamy forestland on the Löβnitz Valley Steam
Railway. We also visit the fairytale castle of
Moritzburg, which is built as a hunting lodge,
before a light lunch and wine tasting at the
Wackerbarth Castle, Saxony’s oldest sparkling
wine producer, situated at the foot of the
vineyards.
Day 7: Zittau Mountain Steam Train
We enjoy our final steam train journey today,
which takes us from the city of Zittau to the
mountain spa resort of Oybin. After some free
time in Oybin we return to Dresden for an
afternoon at leisure. We enjoy a farewell meal in
a local restaurant this evening.
Day 8: Dresden – London
We set off on the rail journey to Brussels and
meet Eurostar for the return to London.
