Each winter, the streets and squares of Strasbourg are illuminated with light as Christmas<br />
casts its spell on this beautiful French city. With festive stalls spread across several different<br />
areas, it is one of the largest and oldest Christmas markets in Europe, and has been voted<br />
the best for two years running. Before spending the day here, we explore Germany’s<br />
beautiful Black Forest and visit fairytale Freiburg where a more intimate market is held<br />
among the medieval lanes. We also visit the quaint Black Forest town of Gengenbach<br />
where the Town Hall is transformed into the world’s largest Advent Calendar.<br />
