The Spitfire and Hawk Trails are
based around Lincoln and each
take about an hour to complete.
The shortest cycling route – The
Proctor Trail is 12 miles long but is
all “off road” making it an attractive
option for families. The other three
range from 38 to 55 miles in length.
All are circular.
There’s also a chance for young
people to “earn their wings” by
doing the Lancaster, Spitfire,
Hawk, Sopwith Camel and Proctor
Trails and answering the questions
on “wings” on the trails. If they
complete all five, they will earn their
pilot’s licence!
Lincoln BIG is also busy organising
this year’s Children’s Festival, a
popular annual event during which
scores of shoppers and visitors
take a break to enjoy a wide
range of performances by county
schoolchildren.
This year’s event runs from
July 2 to 6. On Tuesday, July 3,
performances will take place at
St Marks Shopping Centre. On
the other days, groups will be
entertaining people in Lincoln High
Street.
Performances can be seen each
day between 10am and 1.30pm.
Organiser Sara Bullimore said: “Quite a few
schools have already booked space for this
event, but we would love to hear from other
primary schools whose children would enjoy
doing a half-hour performance. This might
include singing, dancing, playing music or
performing in a small choir. Sara can be
contacted on: 079768 40455.
