Gross Value Added Per Hour Worked THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY HAS NOT HAD THE SAME FOCUS. History History and Market Need: Over the last few decades, generally speaking industry has focused on Capital deployment and quality of services provided. This represents a two pronged market with Project Management and Improvements to every element that affects the Project. Those improvements come in the form of engineering, material purchased, efficient use of crews, efficient use of vehicles and equipment, process improvements, waste elimination, forensics in lessons learned and better planning of the work to name a few. The manufacturing business has taken advantage of these improvements to stay relevant, competitive and to differentiate their product from their competition. The construction industry has remained fairly status quo, unless technology advances force changes. Consequently, the construction industry has remained at the same levels of efficiency and waste generation as it did years ago. There haven’t been any real defining moments in the construction industry as noted by no large step changes in the form of efficiency improvements and waste reduction.
History Improvements come in the form of ENGINEERING, MATERIAL PURCHASED, EFFICIENT USE OF CREWS, EFFICIENT USE OF VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT, PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS, WASTE ELIMINATION, FORENSICS IN LESSONS LEARNED and BETTER PLANNING OF THE WORK to name a few.
