2017 KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS
BUILT AND ARTICULATED
THE CASE FOR GENDER EQUITY
Bringing together the expertise of the WFF
Board, Senior Leadership Team and external
consultants in concert with deep engagement
with contemporary research, WFF focused
throughout the year on building and articulating
the case for gender equity.
We understand the power of educating decision
makers with the often-surprising facts about the
current state of women’s progress at work, and
then demonstrating how growing this valuable
talent resource is critical to business success.
We have defined our understanding of gender
equity at work as meaning that all team
members enjoy the same opportunities and
rewards regardless of gender. We have drawn
from and documented some of the extensive
research findings on the impact of gender equity
on countries, companies and individuals.
The story continues, however, with extensive
evidence that driving gender equity drives
bottom line business performance. That
companies that lead in gender diversity
outperform their peers. And how, on average,
companies with the highest percentages of
women board directors outperform those with
the least on return on equity, return on sales
and return on invested capital.
It is a good story. A strong, impactful, inspiring
story. And one that needs to be told more boldly,
more frequently, and to more leaders who
will make change happen. WFF will tell
the story, share the facts and
LEAD THE WAY to change.
We have begun to use that evidence base
to tell the story of today’s women at work.
We share the tough facts of how women,
even those starting their careers today, are
promoted less often and paid less than their
male counterparts.
