Little Creek Bar-B-Cue Competed at the Kings of Q BBQ<br />
Competition & Festival<br />
Little Creek Bar-B-Cue competed at the Kings of Q BBQ Competition<br />
& Festival in Ayden North Carolina on <strong>May</strong> 18 and 19. <strong>The</strong>y placed<br />
11th in Chicken, 8th in Ribs, 13th in Pork, and 21st in Brisket. <strong>The</strong>y<br />
placed 12th overall out of 38 competing teams. Congratulations to<br />
Little Creek Bar-B-Cue!<br />

<strong>The</strong> Bangor Park Park Board announces it's<br />
<strong>2018</strong> Summer Events<br />
Saturday Night, June 23rd: Movie Night featuring Sherlock<br />
Gnomes <strong>The</strong> movie starts at dusk and is free to the public.<br />
Refreshments will be sold.<br />
Friday Night, June 29th: Splashdance at the pool from 7:30pm-<br />
9:30pm for all teens ages 13-15. l admission fee. Lifeguards and<br />
chaperones will be present.<br />
Friday Night, July 20th: Family Luau. 7pm to 9:30pm<br />
admission fee includes: pool admission, DJ, games and contests<br />
with prizes and 1 family luau souvenir photo. Food and drinks will be<br />
available for purchase.<br />
August 11th: Party @ the Pool! 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Spend the<br />
afternoon at Bangor Memorial Park Pool with a D.J., fun & games<br />
with prizes. (Admission is free if you have a Pool Pass).<br />
August 18th (tentative): Pooch Plunge at Pool<br />
<strong>The</strong> last day of the pool season is one for our furry friends. Come out<br />
with man’s (or women’s) best friend and enjoy one of the last days of<br />
summer with a doggie swim day!<br />

Slate <strong>Belt</strong> Heritage Center Monthly Historic Presentation<br />
<strong>The</strong> Slate <strong>Belt</strong> Heritage Center is seeking any individuals who would<br />
like to share, in the form of a presentation, any pertinent historical<br />
information about the Slate <strong>Belt</strong>. This could be in the form of a power<br />
point or just a discussion. Please call Karen Brewer at<br />

Forks Township Historical Society<br />
<strong>The</strong> Forks Township Historical Society meetings are held the 4th<br />
Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Faith Lutheran Church.<br />
<strong>The</strong>re is Show & Tell and a Speaker at each meeting.<br />
Rustic Retail Market and Twisted Motorsports<br />
Show and Swap Meet<br />
HEJJ Productions, LLC will be hosting the Rustic Retail Market and Twisted<br />
Motorsport show at the Sussex County Fairgrounds on Father’s Day Weekend,<br />
June 16th and June 17th, 9am to 5pm. Tickets may be purchased at the door or<br />
at https://www.gohejj.com/. Presale tickets will be entered to win a $50 Market<br />
Voucher.<br />
<strong>The</strong> all-ages event will feature two shows at one venue. <strong>The</strong> indoor “Rustic<br />
Retail Market” will host 80 plus artisan vendors while the “Twisted Motorsports<br />
Show and Swap Meet” will be going on outdoors. <strong>The</strong> shows will have a large<br />
indoor food court with an abundance of food options. A beer and wine garden<br />
will be available for any thirsty adults over 21!<br />
Family owned and operated businesses Dixie Belle Paint Company, D. Lawless<br />
Hardware and Grace on Broadway are the main event sponsors. <strong>The</strong>re will be<br />
opportunities for you to see, learn about, and use products as well as purchase<br />
some for home! Browse over 80 artisan vendors, gather ideas or shop to find<br />
something special and one of a kind.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Twisted Motorsports event will have various commercial and private<br />
vendors from new bikes, to old parts, and everything in between. Sponsor Rocky<br />
Mountain Co. will be on hand with plenty of product give-aways. Attendees will<br />
also have the option to enter their own bike(s) for the chance to win a trophy!<br />
Locomotion Powersports will also be there with plenty of new machines. Peruse<br />
the Swap Meet to find that vintage part or machine you need.<br />
Heather and Ed Marzigliano are the co-owners and operators of HEJJ<br />
Productions and of Grace on Broadway in Bangor, PA. <strong>The</strong> couple wanted<br />
to create a show focused on both of their interests: motorsports and artisan<br />
shopping so they thought “let’s put them together at the same event and keep<br />
everyone happy and interested!” Through the process of building the show it<br />
has been important to find unique trusted vendors, a quality venue, and to keep<br />
a family friendly atmosphere for a great Father’s Day weekend.<br />
NCC to Offer Free Information Session on Becoming a<br />
Medical Secretary<br />
Session will be held at Easton Education Center<br />
Become a vital part of the administrative support staff in the healthcare<br />
field. Northampton Community College (NCC) will hold a free information<br />
session about its new medical secretary program on June 6th, 6:00 p.m. at<br />
the Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 East 3rd Street in Bethlehem.<br />
Medical secretaries are involved in daily tasks that ensure the day to<br />
day operations of a busy practice, healthcare facility, or treatment care<br />
centers run smoothly. Greeting patients, maintaining schedules, and<br />
accessing medical records require medical secretaries to be competent in<br />
interpersonal skills and computer hardware and software systems.Learn<br />
how to gain these office skills and medical knowledge.<br />
Classes begin Tuesday, June 26 at 9:00 a.m., in the Easton Education<br />

Friends of the Bangor Public Library<br />
If you would like to become involved in a community group and make new<br />
friends please consider joining the Friends of the Bangor Public Library. <strong>The</strong><br />
group conducts activities throughout the year to financially benefit and promote<br />
literacy for the Bangor Library. Some of their projects are: Two “Brunch w/the<br />
Author” presentations, a “Spring Book Sale” and a book sale at the “Blue Valley<br />
Farm Show". This past year a “Wine Tasting Party" and “Breakfast w/Santa” and<br />
a fundraiser at the “Broadway Pub”, a "Bake Sale" and the famous “Duck Race”<br />
were also held. <strong>The</strong> Friends meet the 4th Thursday of each month in the upstairs<br />
room of the library. <strong>The</strong> Friends also support the “Children’s Reading Hour”, and<br />
