NMMI Parent’s Club Newsletter
The NMMI Parents Club is comprised of every parent, grandparent or guardian of
every cadet. It is led by an elected board, mostly local, but includes regional
representatives as well. The Board, through massive participation across the United
States by ALL Parent Club members, represents and supports NMMI cadets, their
families and the Institute.
The Parents Club serves as a liaison to parents and families through:
• Helping families ease the transition into the regimented lifestyle of a military school;
• Working closely with the Institute and the Commandant of Cadets to support the
Corps of Cadets in any way feasible;
• Enhancing the corps of cadets’ life style through academics, athletics, social, cultural
and extra-curricular activities at NMMI, and;
• Providing a “parental” presence in time of joy or sorrow when needed
The Parents Club is a non-profit organization and is funded primarily through our own
fund-raising endeavors throughout the school year. We also receive annually,
donations by local merchants that contribute to our over-all ability to give something
special to the corps. Among the fund-raising events are:
• NMMI and Parent Club merchandise sales at matriculation, home coming, open
houses, 21-days, and family weekends;
• Silent Auction during the Parent Breakfast at Family Weekend, and;
• Special sales for holidays and other occasions throughout the year
The Parents Club utilizes all funds and contributions to provide events such as Ice
Cream Socials, Spring-Fling, Christmas, Halloween and Valentine celebrations and
functions for ALL cadets. Through the leadership of the Commandant, we also
provide funding for special programs, trips and activities for the corps Please feel free
to contact any of the Parent’s Club Board at any time via phone or email. We will be
happy to assist you in any way we can. We will be happy to answer questions,
encourage you in your NMMI transition or simply be a sounding board. We look
forward to meeting all of you and your cadets in the upcoming year.
