of Wonderful Shopping
Arizona Antique Shows, continued from page 6...
Johnson of Endlich, Terry and Noreen Pavey of Verde Paper,
Julia Herman, The Boswells of Estate Brokerage, Gary
Feldman estate jewelry, Ralph Malcom from Havasu City,
Bob Nagel from Tucson, Jyninne Sheldon of Golden Earring,
Val’s Vintage, Moe Gersten’s paperweight collection and so
many more. Customers love shopping these booths because
they know from show to show because they know they will
find new and exciting merchandise.
Wanda says the exhibitor base is dictated by our seasons
as is true for most shows. The winter season brings a whole
new look. The exhibitors increase, doubling the size of the
shows in the winter and early spring. Exhibitors coming back
from the long summer bring fresh merchandise collected for
the past months. Jacquie Froy and Jody Wilson from New
York spend their winter months exhibiting at the Phoenix
Antique Market along with Doris Newell from Illinois and
so many others.
She feels the shows always bring different experiences
to the consumers. Past shows featured appraisal booths to
free wine tasting. Wanda says, “You can depend on Joe
and Deanna Zoblescin, proprietors of Deanna’s fudge, for
probably the most decadent fudge you could ever allow
your pallet to experience.” In addition to a wide variety of
specialized flavors, Deanna has worked hard to create a line
of fructose free fudge for the diabetic plus they have holiday
favorites like pumpkin fudge, Meghan Jones’ favorite flavor.
This November there will be a porcelain and crystal
restorations booth at the show giving demonstrations of
glass grinding and more. Billie Coleman from The China and
Crystal Clinic of Tempe will be one of many exhibitors at
the November 17th and 18th Phoenix Antique Market. Billie,
owner and restorer of china and crystal, along with son Jim,
will be doing glass demonstrations at the show and will bring
examples of items that have been restored.
Jim invites the public to bring their forgotten treasures
or questions and he will give them an estimate on the
probability and cost for conservation or restoration. He says,
“Every family has prized possessions that are passed from
generation to generation. Often, these heirlooms are hidden
away in attics or the backs of cupboards because they have
been damaged in their many years of use.” The China and
Crystal Clinic can restore these items to their original beauty,
often times fabricating missing parts like fingers, hands,
pigtails and handles. They can remove chips from crystal
goblets and bowls and make them usable again. They repair
broken and chipped figurines, vases, dolls, antique picture
frames, lamps, jade, pottery, glass and crystal. Some items
are valuable, others hold sentimental memories. They are a
member of the Association of Restorers and authorized by
Hummel, Lladro, Royal Doulton and are recommended by
The Collectors Information Bureau and collectors and dealers
worldwide.
