RANCH HISTORY
The Ranch was founded in the 1800s by J.J. Galbreath, a horse trader who married a Blackfeet woman. He aggregated lands and allotments eventually
forming an 18,000 acre ranch. The Galbreath Ranch initially raised horses for the US Army Remount Program at Fort Shaw, Montana, and later for
the Canadian Northwest Mounted Police at Lethbridge, Alberta. In the 1920s it was converted to a cattle ranch and has remained one ever since, with
the exception of a brief period of time in the 1990s when the Ranch was used for breeding and training polo ponies.
