Fortunate and grateful are words that come to<br />
mind as we write this. We are fortunate that<br />
we have a support team such as the Nokomis<br />
Fire department. To know they are there when<br />
you need them is truly comforting. It’s difficult<br />
to express in words how grateful we are<br />
for such caring neighbours. Our gratitude to<br />
those who came on June 12th with water trucks<br />
and hugs of support that day, and following.<br />
Fire is an exceptionally scary event and we<br />

RUH Foundation raises<br />
record $28 million<br />
Saskatchewan residents stretched their generosity to a record level during Royal<br />
University Hospital Foundation’s 2015-2018 “The GREATER Campaign” in support<br />
of trauma, emergency and critical care at RUH. A total of $28 million from 4,625<br />
individual family, business and corporate donors from across the province was<br />
raised during the Foundation’s most ambitious fundraising campaign in its 35 year<br />
history. This total surpassed the campaign goal by $8 million or 40 per cent.<br />
“Royal University Hospital Foundation is extremely humbled by the generosity<br />
and confidence bestowed on the Foundation and Royal University Hospital by our<br />
donors,” said Arla Gustafson. CEO. RUH Foundation. during a celebration attended<br />
by donors. grateful patients. physicians. nurses and other staff at RUH. “The impact<br />
of this support has and will continue to generate faster response times. create stronger<br />
teams. and purchase newer equipment that not only benefits patients and staff<br />
today but also for decades to come.”<br />
Since its inception in 1983. the Foundation has raised and invested more than<br />
$130 million to support transformational patient care and enhanced research and<br />
training opportunities for physicians and staff members at RUH. This cumulative<br />
total is the largest raised by any hospital foundation for one hospital in the province.<br />
