Fortunate and grateful are words that come to
mind as we write this. We are fortunate that
we have a support team such as the Nokomis
Fire department. To know they are there when
you need them is truly comforting. It’s difficult
to express in words how grateful we are
for such caring neighbours. Our gratitude to
those who came on June 12th with water trucks
and hugs of support that day, and following.
Fire is an exceptionally scary event and we
are fortunate no one was hurt and grateful for
exceptional family, friends and neighbours.

RUH Foundation raises
record $28 million
Saskatchewan residents stretched their generosity to a record level during Royal
University Hospital Foundation’s 2015-2018 “The GREATER Campaign” in support
of trauma, emergency and critical care at RUH. A total of $28 million from 4,625
individual family, business and corporate donors from across the province was
raised during the Foundation’s most ambitious fundraising campaign in its 35 year
history. This total surpassed the campaign goal by $8 million or 40 per cent.
“Royal University Hospital Foundation is extremely humbled by the generosity
and confidence bestowed on the Foundation and Royal University Hospital by our
donors,” said Arla Gustafson. CEO. RUH Foundation. during a celebration attended
by donors. grateful patients. physicians. nurses and other staff at RUH. “The impact
of this support has and will continue to generate faster response times. create stronger
teams. and purchase newer equipment that not only benefits patients and staff
today but also for decades to come.”
Since its inception in 1983. the Foundation has raised and invested more than
$130 million to support transformational patient care and enhanced research and
training opportunities for physicians and staff members at RUH. This cumulative
total is the largest raised by any hospital foundation for one hospital in the province.
