hosting drop-in craft sessions
during the school holidays to
run alongside the network-wide
Dr. Seuss Creature Creation - A
Family Challenge Competition.

These free drop-in sessions
are available to help you with
specific issues, such as using
email, searching the internet,
using the library catalogue, using
electronic resources and any
other general computer-related
queries. Go along with your
laptop, tablet, or smartphone or
use one of the desktop computers
if you need help with anything
digital. This session is free and
no bookings are required.
Celebrate Matariki by going to a lantern-lit family night walk beside the Styx River on Saturday.
This event will be held in partnership with the Styx Living Laboratory Trust and city council.
Explore one of the city’s newest parks at night with your guide pointing out special features and
creatures that reveal themselves only under the cover of night. The walk will take about 45min
and is suitable for push chairs. It will finish with a hot chocolate and a gold coin donation for the
trust would be appreciated. Bring your own handmade lantern or torch. Numbers are limited to
50 so register online at the Kidsfest website – www.kidsfest.co.nz. Starts at 6.30.

Reading to Dogs

These sessions have been
designed to provide a relaxed
and non-threatening atmosphere
to encourage children to
practise their reading skills and
develop a love of reading. This
programme uses dogs which
are the pets of the city council
animal management team and
have been trained and tested for
health, safety and temperament.

friendly class that assumes you
have never danced before so you
can come any day that suits. It’s
partner dancing but you don’t
have to bring a partner with
you, you’ll meet plenty during
the evening. Tickets can be
