TURKEY TAGGING PROCEDURE FOR LICENSES PURCHASED VIA PHONE OR INTERNET Hunters purchasing licenses by phone or Internet are given both an authorization number and an LDWF identification number that will serve as their license until such license arrives by mail. Hunters must tag turkey with possession tags, using the authorization number or LDWF identification number for the required license numbers recorded on the possession tag. Hunters must maintain documentation of these harvested turkey and must validate harvested turkey as required by law when the hunter receives the original license and tags. The hunter must validate the license information from these harvested turkey and must discard the license tags for these validated turkey. REPLACEMENT OF LOST TAGS Duplicate tags are available to replace lost tags at a charge to the hunter. Hunters that have harvested turkey prior to losing their remaining tags must remove and discard the duplicate tags to account for the original tags that have been used and validated. Hunters must record these validated turkey on the duplicate turkey tag license. COPY COPY COPY COPY Possession Tags Any part of a wild turkey that is divided shall have affixed thereto the name, date, address and LDWF number of the person killing the turkey. This information shall be legibly written in pen or pencil on any piece of paper or cardboard or any material which is attached or secured to or enclosing the part or parts. (Resident Game Possession Tags are provided on page 118 and may be used for such purposes). Sex Identification Positive evidence of sex identification, including the head or intact leg shall remain on any turkey taken, so long as such turkey is kept in camp or field, or is in route to the domicile of its possessor, or until such turkey has been stored at the domicile of its possessor or divided at a cold storage facility and has thus become identifiable as food rather than as wild game. 48 2016-2017 Louisiana Hunting Regulations
Migratory Game Bird Schedules Migratory Birds Shooting & Hawking Hours 1. Ducks, Geese, Teal, Rail, Gallinule, Snipe and Woodcock: One-Half Hour before sunrise to sunset, EXCEPT a. Shooting hours for Snipe at the Spanish Lake Recreation Area in Iberia Parish, including the Conservation Order, shall end at 2 p.m. b. Shooting hours for Waterfowl ends at 2:00 pm on all WMAs EXCEPT on Atchafalaya Delta, Biloxi, Lake Boeuf, Pass-a-Loutre, Pointe-aux-Chenes and Salvador/Timken WMAs. Consult individual WMA Hunting Schedules for shooting hours. 2.
