Licensing<br />
<strong>Hunting</strong> and recreational fishing licenses may be purchased by phone toll-free at<br />
1-888-765-2602, an authorization number for immediate use will be provided and<br />
licenses will be mailed to each licensee OR purchase an E-License online at www.<br />
wlf.louisiana.gov/licenses. and print using your home printer for immediate use.<br />
Methods of payment are Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or<br />
E-check. A convenience fee is assessed. Customers wanting a license on durable,<br />
waterproof paper can still visit any license vendors.<br />
License Exceptions & Exemptions<br />
The following recreational fishermen and hunters are not required to obtain a basic recreational<br />
fishing license, saltwater license, basic hunting license, big game license or migratory<br />
waterfowl conservation license, but must have proof of age in their possession whenever<br />
fishing or hunting:<br />
1. Residents who were born prior to June 1, 1940.<br />
2. Residents and non-residents younger than 16 years of age.<br />
Military<br />
Military licenses are valid only during that<br />
time when the licensee is on active duty<br />
in the armed forces of the United States.<br />
Any resident or nonresident who possesses<br />
a military identification card that signifies<br />
that he is currently on active duty with any<br />
one of the armed forces of the United<br />
States, including the National Guard, or the<br />
spouse or dependent of such person, may<br />
be issued a license for hunting or recreational<br />
fishing in <strong>Louisiana</strong> for the same fee<br />
as that required of <strong>Louisiana</strong> residents. The<br />
military identification card or dependent<br />
card and the appropriate license must be<br />
on the licensee’s person at all times when<br />
he is engaged in hunting and fishing activities.<br />
Any <strong>Louisiana</strong> resident who submits proof<br />
of his status as a active member of the<br />
<strong>Louisiana</strong> National Guard or any reserve<br />
component of the United States armed<br />
forces, though not currently on active duty,<br />
may purchase in lieu of Basic and Saltwater<br />
Fishing, Basic <strong>Hunting</strong>, Big Game, Bow,<br />
Primitive Firearms, LA. Duck, Turkey Stamp<br />
and WMA <strong>Hunting</strong> Permit, a license for<br />

$50.00 to fish and hunt in <strong>Louisiana</strong>. Submit<br />
completed application with a copy of the<br />
applicant’s:<br />
1. <strong>Louisiana</strong> Driver’s license,<br />
2. Military identification card,<br />
3. Original letter from their commanding<br />
officer verifying that they are in “good<br />
standing” with the <strong>Louisiana</strong> National<br />
Guard or United States armed forces<br />
and<br />
4. Money order for $50.00.<br />

Resident veterans having a permanent<br />
service-connected disability classification<br />
of 50 percent or more and residents who<br />
are blind, paraplegic or multiple amputee<br />
shall upon identification and proof of disability<br />
satisfactory to LDWF, be issued<br />
sports hunting license without the payment<br />
