born Pianist Nikolai Demidenko has performed with major
Orchestras worldwide, including the Prague Symphony;
the BBC National Orchestra of Wales; St Petersburg
Philharmonic; Orchestre National de France; Halle and the

of the Russian repertoire but also for his authoritative
performances of composers as diverse as Chopin, Scarlatti
and Weber, he plays with glorious passion and subtle,

HUW WATKINS, Piano
Guy Johnson has become a fast-rising star on the
international stage, after his extraordinary debut at the BBC
Proms, performing the Elgar Cello Concerto with the BBC
Symphony Orchestra under Leonard Slatkin. Recently, he has
enjoyed successes with the London Philharmonic, CBSO,
English Chamber Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony.
Huw Watkins has been described by The Independent on
Sunday as ‘a pianist of alert intelligence and a composer
with something to say’. His concerto engagements have
included the Northern Sinfonia, Grace Williams’ Sinfonia
Concertante with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and his own
Piano Concerto with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales
and Martyn Brabbins.

PIATTI QUARTET
Finalists in the 2009 Royal Overseas League competition
and winners of the Tunnell Trust Award 2010/2011, the Piatti
String Quartet are fast emerging as the UK’s leading young
string quartet. Having been chosen for the Park Lane Group
young artist series, the Piatti Quartet made their Purcell
room debut in October 2009.
