6.10 PMC<br />

The core power (V DD ) can be switched off as part of power management. The simple connection diagram<br />

shows how the external signals of <strong>MPC8313E</strong> help to implement the feature. However, a partial core<br />

(V DDC) is always provided with power and should not be switched off.<br />

• Only core PLL (AV DD1 ) can be switched off. Do not switch off the power to system PLL at any<br />

time.<br />

• When two regulators are used to generate V DD and V DDC individually, make sure the voltage<br />

difference between the two are within the limits described in the hardware specs.<br />

• Recommended devices <strong>for</strong> switchable V DD supply are as follows:<br />

— FET: TPC6004 from Toshiba (Use low RDS devices)<br />

— Regulator: MAX1510ETB + from Maxim<br />
