JUNGLE
GYM
We can´t help ourselves
– we just HAD to call
our in-house gym concept
Jungle Gym!
The new offshoot of the
first and original gym
in Copenhagen, Sporting
Health Club, SHC
Søerne, is one of the
coolest gyms around,
with state-of-the-art
equipment in a raw and
energizing environment.
There´s a boxing
ring, monkey bars & lots
of body-weight exercise
possibilities.
Guests of Manon les
Suites have free access
to the Jungle Gym, and
it is possible to reserve
a personal professional
trainer. Just let us know
in advance and we´ll get
you set up.
Axel
Basement
GYM
Axel Guldsmeden has a small, but perfectly formed
work-out space, with beautiful oaken work-out machines,
weights, a pull-up bar + lat machine. Try the
water-rower in particular – close your eyes, enjoy the
sound of waves and dream that you´re off on a
Bali beach.
KASTELLET
Churchill´s Park is located just
across from Babette´s front door.
An amazingly preserved historic
site, The Citadel (Kastellet), a star
fortress, was founded by Danish
King Christian IV in 1626, and is
home to a church, a windmill and
buildings housing and serving
the military. There´s an amazing
view from the top of the Kastellet
hills, have a jog a few times
round the route - total is 1,74km.
THE
COPENHAGEN
LAKES
Can’t get enough of running?
A very popular running route
is around the iconic Copenhagen
lakes, open-air outdoor in
urban nature. The full route
round the lakes is 6,4 km.,
but if you run out of steam
halfway through, there´s
lots of cosy pit stops along
the way where you can get
a coffee, a smoothie, a sandwich
or whatever else your
heart and stomach desire.
The lake route also leads to
an outdoor training facility
in-between the last set
of lakes, located on a street
named Fredensgade. You
can work with your bodyweight
only in monkey bars,
and practice your cross-fit skills.
if you´re looking for something
a tiny bit more hilly
(Denmark is known for being
one of the flattest countries
in the world), you could
run by the Ørsteds-park. Just
5 minutes from the lakes,
this park is one of the loveliest
small fairy-tale places
in Copenhagen - not a long
run or walk, but go over it
a few times and you´ll get
all the exercise you need!
