Kalmar’s new AGV, the FastCharge doing what it does<br />
best; ‘handling heavy duty container loads’<br />

Mikko Mononen, the Vice President of Intelligent<br />
Horizontal Transportation division at Kalmar explains,<br />
“The Kalmar FastCharge AGV offers both greenfield<br />
and brownfield terminals an alternative solution to<br />
reduce the environmental impact of their operations<br />
while maximizing equipment availability. It<br />
complements our existing offering for horizontal<br />
transportation and is based on the proven TLS<br />
automation platform, which includes AGV support for<br />
terminals using the Navis N4 TOS. Launching the<br />
Kalmar FastCharge AGV was the natural next step<br />
after the successful project with PSA Singapore, where<br />
we delivered a fleet of 18 customized electric AGVs at<br />
the end of June 2017.”<br />
At the <strong>2018</strong> Tech TOC Conference held in the Marina Bay Sands<br />
resort in Singapore, Kalmar introduced its latest technologies<br />
and solutions for the Asia-Pacific market. Tech TOC is the terminal<br />
operations conference stream of TOC Asia, which was held on 24-<br />
25 April <strong>2018</strong>. With the launch of FastCharge AGV this year, Kalmar<br />
now successfully expands it product portfolio. The company now<br />
offers the widest range of cargo handling solutions and services to<br />
ports, terminals, distribution centers and to heavy industry. With<br />
one in four container movements around the globe being handled<br />
by a Kalmar solution, the company is a dominant player in the sector<br />
with expertise in terminal automation and energy efficient container<br />
handling.<br />
Through its extensive product portfolio and global service network,<br />
customers can choose an integrated turnkey solution consisting<br />
of the Kalmar terminal logistics system (TLS) and Navis N4 terminal<br />
operating system. They can also take advantage of Kalmar<br />
Key, which enables integration of the Kalmar TLS with their existing<br />
terminal operating system (TOS) through a series of open application<br />
interfaces.<br />
