HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY!
New Forest Hospital Radio celebrates its
40 th anniversary of this year. Broadcasting
24 hours a day from the studio in the
Lymington New Forest Hospital to the
bedside of patients as well as public area
speakers in the hospital.
through a Smart Speaker. We have 50
volunteers who either visit the wards or
present the programmes.
New members are welcome and will be
given thorough training. For more
details please call the studio on 01590
663366 or contact us through the
website.
Programmes are also produced for five
local care homes. The cornerstone
programme is the daily two hour request
show , which is broadcast at 7.00pm every
day and repeated at 7.00am and 12.00
noon the next day. Requests are collected
by volunteers who visit the wards every
day discussing what the patient would like
to hear; musical memories are a
wonderful therapy. During the day a wide
variety of music and local interest
programmes are broadcast, designed to
appeal to our listeners. As well as a music
mix, there are programmes dedicated to
Classical Music, Jazz, Sixties, short plays
from the Lymington Players and of course
there are no advertisements.
The station output may be heard through
the website www.nfhradio.org.uk or
Please mention The Village Voice when responding to adverts
