They are cheaper than containerised plants. Renovate old lawns or create new grass areas. Harvest apples, pears, grapes and nuts. If you did not tidy up the pond last month, then clear out any debris, weeds and excess oxygenating plants now. Leaving plants on the side of the pond for a day before composting them, so that any wildlife has time to escape back to the pond. Protect plants that are borderline hardy, such as Agapanthus with a thick mulch of straw or garden compost. 28
